There’s a long-standing bug in Fedora (also in Fedora 40), where the sign-in screen is displayed at the wrong resolution (it doesn’t use the settings you have set in the Settings app).
So, for example, if you have 4K@2x set in your settings for your monitor, the sign-in screen will still display at a tiny 4K@1x.
To fix, download an app called GDM Settings from the Software app and press Display → Apply current display settings → Apply.

Does anybody know why would #gdm under #Debian (Bookworm) decide to use X11, rather than #Wayland, for the login screen even though I have WaylandEnable=true in /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf (same thing happens with it commented out entirely)?
I can't find any reason for this to happen, and yet it does, which is especially annoying because X11 doesn't work on this machine, while Wayland does perfectly.

Mit dem Werkzeug GDM-Einstellungen ist es möglich, das Aussehen und die Funktionen des Anmeldebildschirms in GNOME zu ändern. Man kann das Hintergrundbild, das Thema, das Symbol, das Zeitformat, die Elemente im oberen Bereich usw. ändern. Es sogar möglich, das Antippen des Anmeldebildschirms zu aktivieren.
Trying to set up a #Debian workstation again (I really want to get back to #Linux), and loving it already.
• #GDM doesn’t run in Wayland mode. Logs say something about a segfault in #gnome-shell.
• Using #Xorg instead works, but if I position my left monitor to (0, 420) (because the right one is taller), the output on screen moves down (with the menu bar now in the middle of the screen), the mouse cursor is offset.
