I saw this bumper sticker about two years ago and just came across it in my photo library. Not familiar with Alice Coltrane but I appreciate goofy bumper stickers enough to give her music a listen.
At first blush, Universal Consciousness is INTENSE! #MorningJam#Music
Tidal is Ms. Apple’s first studio record, for which she signed a deal at age 17.
I love to tell people that the first lyrics of her first song of her first record are about telling a man to go to hell.
I tell you how I feel, but you don't care
I say tell me the truth, but you don't dare
You say love is a hell you cannot bear
And I say "Give me mine back and then go there
For all I care”
Thought this was interesting in Robyn's wikipedia entry:
When Robyn turned down Jive Records' attempt to sign her in the United States, the label shifted their focus to a young artist named Britney Spears, with the head of Jive calling Spears "an American Robyn – a Europop teen queen, with an added dash of 'girl next door.'" Martin ended up producing much of Spears's debut album ...Baby One More Time, and she was seen as "easier to control than the 'forceful' Swedish teenager."
Today's #MorningJam is “Shakey Ground” by the Temptations. I heard it on WFUV last night and couldn't wait to listen to that bass groove on my home system. Doesn't disappoint.
@Dylan I make no claim to knowledge. I played the song on Roon and looked at the liner notes. I just know who eddie hazel is and made the [mothership] connection.
Reminiscing about some of the shitty pop-punk music I listened to in high school. God, some of it was cringey.
Back in 2016 Mayday Parade released an all-new, higher-fidelity recording of their debut EP, “Tales Told By Dead Friends” on the 10th anniversary of its original release. Sound quality is vastly improved, though that wasn’t a high bar to clear.
