I find the terms problem and solution space confusing so I've summarized the works of Indi Young, Marty Cagan, Teresa Torres, and John Cutler which can help to address this problem.

It’s effectively taking the saying that “The remaining 10 % of the code accounts for the other 90 % of the development time” and running it backwards ⎭
When it comes to user research I personally consider “Could you imagine changing your behavior?” questions to be very weak signals when it comes to predicting user behavior. Many people imagine themselves to be smart and rational. The truth is we are creatures of habit and changing peoples behavior is one of the hardest things to do.
Instead I’d be looking for signs that people are already actively trying to change and focus on this user group.
