When my dad was a little boy, he and a lot of other kids at his school were being molested by one of the teachers. None of the adults believed the kids, so the kids took matters into their own hands on Bonfire Night. They tied the pederast into an outhouse and built the bonfire around it. The guy was saved, but promptly left town and never bothered the kids again. Since my latest grandchild (first granddaughter!) had to be c-section, since her name is Evie (short for Evelyn) they had wanted to pick out November 5th, but as it was a Sunday this year, no go. So they decided on the next best date - Halloween. Still, tomorrow I will remember remember how lucky I am, and how she will grow up strong and fiercely independent.
