There's no basis for including a #citizenship question on the #census. The purpose of the census is to gather data on "every person" residing in the #UnitedStates. The Republicans' desire to add this question is intended to discourage non-citizens from filling out the census form, and subsequently lead to fewer people being used to determine #appropriation, to the benefit of the #GOP. Dems need to oppose this bullshit move.
How does this dude not get punched in the face every time he steps out of his house? He's claiming that "lots" of #undocumentedImmigrants are #voting in #federalElections, despite the fact that it's already illegal for them to vote. And his evidence for this massive #fraud is that there's no evidence. If you or I said something like this at work we'd be fired for incompetence.
By regularly using vicious tropes about #undocumentedImmigrants and other domestic enemies within, #Trump is trying to acclimate voters to the ugliest forms of #authoritarian, dehumanizing language.
How could anyone seriously consider voting for the #Republicans? They've proven time and time again that they're gleefully willing to sacrifice the best interests of the American people for the sake of sticking it to #JoeBiden. A cure for cancer? Naaaa... It's more important to kick dirt on the President.
In his own words, #Trump is promising to rule as a #dictator on ‘day one,’ use the #military against the American people, punish those who stand against him, condone violence done on his behalf, and put his own sick desire for revenge and retribution ahead of America's best interests. Trump is a danger to the #Constitution and a threat to our #democracy.
In #Texas, #doctors face a real #SophiesChoice. They can either practice #medicine the way they’ve been taught, regardless of the personal consequences to themselves; they can try their best to comply with the arbitrary edicts of the #Republican state legislature and their own hapless medical board, and still risk #prison; or they can choose to leave the state of Texas and practice elsewhere.
You can’t practice ethical medicine there, and the laws make it unacceptably risky anyway. Leave, and let the voters decide what is actually important to them.
@mcnado I don't see how docs can stay as it requires them to violate medical ethics. Deciding to stay means consciously deciding to abandon the ethics they swore to uphold. I think the only reasonable choice is to leave for one of the many states that don't impose such an existential conflict of interests.
#Republicans appear committed to politically dying on a number of hills that time has passed by. Their commitment to gutting voting rolls and restricting #votingRights, their obsession with women’s reproductive abilities, and their hatred of #regulations and #democracy in the workplace are increasingly seen by average American voters as out-of-touch and out-of-date.
