Just got our energy bill from Octopus Energy. 28th April to the 27th May. For some reason the gas is 11th May until the 27th May.

Electricity Import - £39.29
Gas Import - £18.55
Electricity Export - £47.46

Total bill - £10.38. Very happy with that. A few more decent solar days and we would have covered the whole bill.

We are still in credit with £126.84 in our account. This months direct debit will be zero.

9.6 kWh of batteries ordered to add to the 9.6 kWh we already have. Going to be fitted next Wednesday.

Now the heat pump planning permission is approved, I have an installation date. Install will start 22nd July. I need to order some new home batteries. I think I will add another 9.6 kWh. That means we will have 19.2 kWh.

Finally a decent Agile price overnight. Looks like a force discharge tonight will make up for the poor weather today. Had just about enough sun to top the battery up.

With today’s forecast and yesterday’s lack of sun that will wipe up this weeks solar export profit. Hopefully will still break even this month. Bill date is the 28th

New daily generation record for the year: 29.4kWh

5p of export required to break even for the day 😀. Solcast says 2.8 kWh left.

A big export day today. Just over 19 kWh exported of the 27.7 kWh produced. That is nearly £3 exported with a profit of £2.24.

Octopus Agile rates are not very good overnight. Better around lunchtime. I don’t think I will charge overnight tonight. Export will have to wait until it has topped up the battery.

Record generation for the year today of 26.4kWh, and it wasn't even an especially good morning.

My electricity bill for last month: Import costs ~£50, export credits ~£90. Overall credit for April: £40 (including standing charges and running an electric car).
This is thanks to Solar PV, a House Battery and a flexible tariff from (Intelligent Go) - all orchestrated with
Capital cost was high but well worth it 👍

Screenshot of my electricity bill showing an import of 410kWh offpeak, costing around £30; and only 10.8kWh at peak rate, costing around £2.80. Standing charges for the month are £17.50.
Screenshot of a graph from my electricity bill showing a profile of a typical day's usage; there is almost no grid consumption during the peak rate period.

A good solar day. Shame we used £2.24 from the grid last night as the solar was so poor yesterday to top up the batteries. We have exported enough to bring today’s cost down to 54p. Not sure we will break even though.

For the first time I have managed to cover my complete electricity bill. Last year I covered the import, but never the standing charge as well. Some of it was covered by the extremely good plunge pricing over the weekend of the 13th, but even so. Can I cover the gas over the summer months?

Off to the Solar and Battery show at the Excel in London today.

It is a long time since we haven’t export anything by this time of day. Battery is 97%. We might sneak in a few pence later.

Made a nice 26p profit today. Covered my £1.30 import and standing charge cost. Shame the sun decided to hide behind the rain clouds around 3pm.

The first day where the east and the west panels are both producing good power at the same time.

2 kWh on the east and 1 kWh on the west. The combined total peak today was 4,222 watts.

Friday's electricity bill was -£0.70. Yesterday's electricity bill was -£2.18.

I found an issue with my Home Assistant electricity cost coding. I had set the import cost to max. Of course it can go down during plunge pricing. I think I have fixed. I can test it again overnight with my plunge pricing.

This afternoon the price of electicity is negative. And sun is out. Car is charging from #solarPV which is free, but it would be better to be paid for taking it from the grid #EV.

I don’t think I have seen Agile prices like this since I have been on this tariff. -7p and -8p amazing. I will not be charging tonight and be discharging in the morning.

The sun made a late run to charge the battery. It made it to 100% and even exported a bit. Will be force discharging later.
