Between "Message in a Bottle" and this episode, Voyager's journey back to the Alpha Quadrant seemed shorter and they were no longer alone as communications with Starfleet picked up.

Just thinking, while watching #StarTrekVoyager ”False Profits“. Did Grand Nagus Zek have information on the whereabouts of the USS Voyager a year before Starfleet? Did the two Ferengi, Arridor and Kol, told him about a Starfleet ship in the Delta Quadrant
