Many people don't believe it when I tell them, but I was into the whole punk and goth thing in my younger days. One of my former classmates said I was giving off Eldergoth Vibes (TM) as far back as high school, whether I knew it or not.
I now work in a conservative industry, and it's been a long time since I put on the black lipstick ... but I have to tell you, the first two vinyl albums that hit the turntable once it was set up late last year were by the Sex Pistols and Lords of the New Church. I kept all of my LPs and singles over the years.
when you procrastinate your #WorldGothDay post until there's less than an hour left in the day, and then remember that most of the world is living in the future:
I was too busy to do anything to celebrate #worldgothday but I hope to play something suitably #Gothic later in the week. My favourite "unknown" #TTRPG SpookyBeans.
Well I guess I’ll do a selfie for #WorldGothDay - this one is from at LEAST 1997, it could be older. (I don’t consider myself goth, but at least goth adjacent 😀)
Might be eye contact, so low res, who knows. 😂
(Update: no it’s older than ‘97 as I just remembered I had chopped my hair off in like 96-97)

The original, historical Goths for which the modern sub-culture is named, were a Germanic tribe, probably from Scandinavia, best known for sacking Rome in 410 CE.
My cover of Switchblade Symphony's "Wallflower" was posted for my Bandcamp and Patreon subscribers last night, and will go public tomorrow morning, but any DJs who want it early can hit me up now ☺️ #WorldGothDay https://www.patreon.com/posts/83301655
