patients like me are rarely given any during most multiple dental works. Also, many people who work in areas in hospitals & day clinics are rarely trained on high-risk protocols for patients. In fact, I've been the one who has had to provide extra educational materials to medical staff who have worked with me - multiple times in my life.

Please help me spread more of PPS patients needs w/anesthesias.

The Theory That Consciousness Is a Quantum System Gains Support -- Hameroff and Penrose’s Orch Or Theory sees consciousness as the outcome of a quantum collapse of a wave function

@onpubcom Orchestrated OR is a fascinating and very compelling theory of consiousness. Penrose and Hameroff have pretty much made me abandon any belief in the notion of Strong AI and to really appreciate the limits of mathematical formalism. You should check out Penrose's "The Emperors New Mind" and "Shadows Of The Mind". They shook up my entire worldview. ✌️

Whatever you do you as an anaesthetic department, don’t buy the Draeger Perseus A500. It has a uniquely terrible knocking sound during IPPV that the company is unable to fix.

Hypoxicchicken,

@SmudgeTheInsultCat I worked with a guy (an anaesthetist) who took his own oral sedatives, sprayed the back of his throat with lidocaine then popped his own laryngeal mask airway in. HME filter, neck pilow and eye mask and the prep was complete!

Just come across this interesting paper on the use of Supraglottic Airways (SGAs) for failed intubation in (predominently US) emergency departments.
Let me take you through it and show you why airway training needs to fundamentally change as a result.

I often wonder if any other anaesthetists tape over drugs the patient is allergic to (or in which a drug is contraindicated) in the drug trolley to reduce the risk of accidental administration.
