If your #Mastodon server enforces a colonialistic "English-only" rule and forbids languages like Irish and Welsh (or any other minority language) from being used, consider moving to a more inclusive server (and keep posting in your language!) #Fosstodon
@vwbusguy I was thinking of moving to that server after #homesocial shut down but no longer being able to speak in German unless I answer another persons toot made me reconsider.

There's an awesome Mastodon content moving tool by @tokyo_0 which will take copies of your old posts over to the new server. You MUST run it while home.social is alive, so be quick.
It's command line, which can't be daunting for some, but we're here to help anyone.

You can move (save and repost) your #Mastodon posts to a new instance using the command-line tool #MastodonContentMover. It's still in development but has already helped others exiting home.social to move their posts.
If you need to move between #Mastodon instances and would like to keep your posts (including attached images and video), you can do that with #MastodonContentMover
It's a command-line tool that saves your posts from your current instance to your computer, and then reposts them to your new instance. It's in development, but an early test version is available.

From their about page, 'Moderation efforts and "inter-instance-wars" have become a nightmare and I consider those a fundamental flaw in Mastodons core design. I also have come to believe, that larger instances might defy the purpose of the fediverse. You might want to start migrating accounts to other instances.' #HomeSocial
The server home.social has indicated it will be shutting down in about 3 weeks, on June, 16th.

How ya gonna expect most blind people to jump over to a different platform (with the exception to a #HomeTown instance), if all the work is being specifically put into Mastodon?
@queenslight I just saw your post here. I haven't tried many other parts of the fediverse myself yet but am curious about what's out there. I hadn't heard of #HomeSocial until now but now I'm curious about it. What is it and how is it different from other #Mastodon instances?
