So today I learned that #apple#ipad#stagemanager only allows you to have four apps open, and if you open a fifth, it arbitrarily (and silently) closes an app you previously "staged." (Don't get me started about not allow me to size or move my apps they way I want to.)
Things like this tell me that the programmers and designers don't use their tools for real world work. 😂 Real problem when trying to do real work on a supposedly Pro version of a device.
I generally like #StageManager on Mac and use it nearly all the time (I turn it off during Zoom calls)
One thing I would like to do is “pin" an app. I always want my daily note window in Obsidian to be visible on the left side of my screen. But whenever I change "stages”, I need to shift-click the Obsidian window to bring it back into view.
I just want it to stay there and have all the other windows dance around it.
Context: I have a stage where I keep my calendar and email open, but I would like to add the settings app to it. The default behavior is to make a new stage for every new app opened, then force the user to drag apps between stages. Is there a keyboard key or something that will just add a newly opened app to the currently opened...
I'm glad that Stage Manager got some attention on the iPad this year, even though I don't use an iPad, because it shows Apple is committed to the feature. I've been using it full-time on macOS since around this time last summer, and at this point I have no plans to go back.
I was online with #StageManager today - and wasn’t able to send a toot? How is it possible to remove the icons over the button to post? Exited Stagemanager and everything was fine. @MonaApp
I've actually started making use of Stage Manager on Mac...
I've just been giving it the old college try to see if I can get a proper workflow going with it....
Can I open a new app directly into a preexisting "stage" in stage manager for Mac?
