The influx of users on reminds me of the invasion of the in the mid-90s.

Except that they're generally totally awesome, unlike the AOL/Usenet culture clash.

Welcome, guys!! :D

Or if you hate them.

My kid is in surgery and I don’t like the silence as I wait so I’d appreciate any reaction at all. 😂

Something weird is happening with in .

Clicking on "Timeline" always results in an error. I can view the timelines in a pop-up but not in the page. Works in incognito, so I tried clearing cookies and cache, still broken.

hmmm, so that's interesting......I just clicked on "Sign In" button here and now I have an account here because I have a Vivaldi account as well....which means that you can just have a account to simply log in to @Vivaldi 's services.....interesting!.....

jesus just trying out @Vivaldi :

  • Friendica loads and freeze SO MUCH SLOW AND FREQUENTLY!

    • when I scroll or adding a new line in my posts it really freezes soo much!

Vivaldi isn't a bad browser: you have problems with it. Examples:

  • Twitter's Ads not blocked even after adding it to "Exceptions" list in settings, so I needed to install uBlock Origin.
  • I have @safing 's Portmaster installed, have set "Default Network Action" in settings to "Prompt" option which allows me to control the connections desktop app are connected to. Every time when I want to open ANY website in , Vivaldi asks a permission (actually not Vivaldi itself but it asks to 's which is displays me a notification for that) to connect to some, unknown for me, an IP address. Like, come on dude, I just want to open a website!........And when I block some connections I actually find it out that I blocked some needed for YouTube a video source website connection. And that sucks that I need to go and manually unblock that website.

Now, you might probably wondering: why is tf do I have those very strict settings in Portmaster for Vivaldi????? What stops/prevents me from allowing to have ALL of permissions for Vivaldi??????????

Well, it's because Vivaldi tracks my IP address and gives it to its servers in Iceland. I don't want my IP address to be sold to adversting companies, so if Vivaldi wouldn't do this, then I wouldn't need to have those strict settings in PortMaster for Vivaldi enabled.

Please, , fix that problem and do something.

Dear and browser people, how do you feel about getting classical music posts in your feed? Or do you use but not follow the hashtags? Would you consider using a different one like ?

I'd love a way to filter out the Opera browser posts but haven't been able to find a useful filter which isn't unhelpfully broad (like the word browser; sometimes info comes through which is useful like Firefox's cookie jar thing).

@Vivaldi I like some of the things is doing with its browser. However, I’m curious about this company’s business model (as I am with all the companies that are producing web browsers) and how this product can be sustainable in a crowded marketplace of

"Microsoft Edge sends a request to bingapis .com with the full URL of nearly every page you navigate to"

Microsoft secretly tracks people across myriads of websites/apps via pixel. Now it was caught tracking them directly in the browser, by default. Wild.

Had to cancel my Standard Notes subscription today. Just another yearly cost I don't need.

I am looking at Notion as another alternative, or maybe Joplin, but I don't really care much for their interfaces.

Yet everyone seems to love Notion, do I just need to get over the learning curve?

mike,
@mike@fosstodon.org avatar

@danarel I used Joplin for a while, but eventually I found that since my preferred browser () integrated a notes feature that used E2EE and was synced between devices, I didn't really have a good reason to. Vivaldi meets all my personal requirements. Is there something you're looking for in a note taking application that would be a deal breaker to not include?

The popular new feature Workspaces on Vivaldi have been out for a week today!

Tell us how you've been using them! What Workspaces do you have in place?

jppelt,

@Vivaldi so addictive. Work computer has different workspaces than home desktop which is different than laptop.

On home I have: News, Kids, Linux, Travel, Finance, and Misc

is practically an OS at this point. The functionality and custom options challenge KDE 🤣

Okay, time for a new . How many different do you use across all your devices? IE, , , , , etc.

And I mean all different browsers: (and chrome variants), , , (and Libre Wold, Seamonkey, etc.), , and all others.

As always: please boost so we get some really good data.

MsDropbear,

@unattributed Just like with your last poll too, i see only your pre-poll descriptive / explanatory posts, then your post-poll commentary posts. I do not see your actual polls themselves. Huh?

Do you not use hashtags for the browsers in your polls? If not, then peeps like me who only follow tags NOT peeps, will never see your polls.
