Ha ha on me. Took the summer gravel bike out for a grocery run, and promptly took a little tumble crossing an invisibly icy 83rd Ave, right in front of a Puralator truck (a bit rushed as he was giving me an unearned right of way stop).I have to think I'll be taking the studded tires the next few mornings when it's below zero. #yegbike#yegwx
Edmonton weather update:
Temperature is above freezing for the first time since New Year's Day! That makes it more than 30 degrees (Celsius) warmer than it was 10 days ago. Beautiful blue skies with sun shining on thick snow. Birds chirping in the bushes.
And the forecast says it might still get another 10 degrees warmer this week.
(Just in case any of you were left with the idea that it is always terrifyingly cold here.)
"Wind chill here has been in the -40's for days, and I haven't seen one Edmonton tweet about scarves poisoning people with CO2 or grifting by Big Knitting."
After waiting 53 hours for a simple battery jump, I am really starting to wonder why I pay for a #CAA membership. Yes, it’s a cold snap. This should not be a surprise in Alberta. #YEGwx
I don't know if this will be sent out on the Emergency Alert system again today, but apparently #Alberta has YET ANOTHER power grid alert coming this evening, especially between 5-7 pm MST:
