Well update on the government side of the job hunt… did a horrid 3-hr exam on Monday in which the person who wrote the job description did not talk to the person who wrote the exam. So that was a fucking amazing stressful waste of time (probably).

Next Monday I get another 2-day exam at 8;30AM and… a 2-hr exam at 9 AM from a difference department the same day. So will get the 2-hr exam out of the way and do the 2-day exam after 😩 #ottawa #jobs

It's important to know that almost every decision made, and especially the ones made to save money, are made to the detriment of public servants' mental health.

I e never understood how shopify is worth much at all.. but they proved me wrong over the years making some locals very rich. But loosing 20% in a day because some people didn’t buy as much junk as expected… might just reflect the reality of trying to gatekeep e-commerce with a product facing steep competition.

@feld feels like it must be worse. Investors (big ones with research and piles of money) maybe didn’t care about to the 1 year time frame but felt like they could run it up and make their money over recent months then get out. Whole thing just feels like a mess.

@grivettcarnac I gave up at the third paragraph of the author and judge lamenting the impact being a convicted rapist who destroyed a co worker’s career will have on this guy because it was clear there were never going to get to real consequences. Consequences thst might keep him or another like him from doing this again

Remember a couple years ago how city council voted to spend a quarter billion dollars on widening 4km of strandherd for no reason? That was more than the whole ward paid in taxes for the year so every streetlight. Every bus. Every plow was paid for by wards who didn’t get what they need so barhaven and riverside shouth residents could sit in traffic of their own making.

So, this was released today. My third stamp with Canada Post. Qarlinngua (The pants). And technically my second stamp with a family member in it, as the tiny figure in it is my son Travis. Now for one with Hilary in it.

I’ve very proud of all of these, beyond the cache. They are about my home, and family. And also my family has a long history with the Post Office, 101 years. My grandfather, father, and brother were all postmasters in Roblin.

Massive outage of my SSC hosted work websites. They just knock stuff out for hours. Down for 7 hours and just back up for one server. The other still down. And SSC wants to force people into their data centre over Cloud.
