Ça y ait je suis la vieille prof chiante... Les élèves qui se plaignent que c'est pas assez appliqué et quand on sera en entreprise ce ne sera pas comme ça. Ben mec, 1- je suis pas responsable de la maquette et 2- on est à l'université là, on est pas en apprentissage.
Je ne suis pas la dernière à dire qu'il faut être pragmatique et que les étudiants veulent un diplôme qui ouvre les portes de l'entreprise, mais on est pas là pour les servir non plus

Academic Hive Mind ! Do you have ressource on the energetical cost of open data policies?

A colleague of mine pointed out yesterday the energetical cost of publishing data alongside articles. Storing this (huge amount of) data on servers will require building new ones, powering them, etc.
I am aware of the positive side of it, but we must think of the effect of how we do science on the climate.

Sur le site de l'ADEME, il y a un petit plugin pour calculer les emissions de CO2 par mode de transport et distance.
Je suis surprise de la faible différence entre un bus et une voiture électrique (défavorable au bus). Est-ce que c'est simplement qu'en moyenne les bus roulent un peu trop à vide ?

2- no understanding of uncertainties in ML.
