I met some morning friends

While writing my 2023 recap, I realised that there were a couple bits of misc art that I never shared here. Let's start with a quick little lighthouse I painted when joining @RexSmeal's "Lighthouse Keepers" community

A rough example frog animation I made while sharing how I try to think about/approach animating (transcript in the alt text)

A little pixel animation of a frog bouncing up and down, puffing its cheeks out. My comments from the conversation this was made during: "Animation isn't my forte, but I find that when I break it down to key poses that communicate energy/mood and try to be conscious about how weight and momentum need to flow across them, then once I have the timing of those right, I'm usually able to fill in the gaps to get something good enough. Sometimes I'm wrong about what those key poses need to be, but so long as I stay sketchy and focus on timings, I can usually identify that before I've invested a lot of effort. Here's a rough little example, the key poses are the resting pose and the cheeks puffed out pose. The extra frame fill in the gaps like [other conversation participant] says, and ideally help carry energy/momentum across those key poses. If I was investing more time, I'd make the knees raise and lower, delayed a frame behind the head moving to help give a sense of "bounce" The timing there is quick and dirty, but hopefully it helps illustrate how making a frame shorter or longer can help control the flow of energy through the animation"

@aetataureate Thanks! I had thought about this beforehand and did it intentionally, taking care to precede the transcript with a note so that anybody who didn't want to hear it could skip to the next element. I will give it further consideration next time!

A couple weeks back, I was cutting down a tree that's too close to my house when I found a nest with eggs in it and decided to leave the job half done.

This afternoon, I saw an occupant (spotted doves don't leave the nest till they've got grownup feathers, so this is a rare sight for me)

Anybody out there happen to know of current manufacturers of wired (3.5mm) bone conduction headphones? Search engines are useless these days and all the popular manufacturers of these kinds of devices are obsessed with sticking batteries in everything.
