My wife got some bad health news last Tuesday, and she's now going through the CancerCare MB intake process.
Our healthcare capabilities in Manitoba are awful. 3 weeks for a CT scan, and 6 weeks for an "urgent" appt with a gynecologist. Multiple prov govts have taken the easy way out by promising low taxes and letting healthcare (and almost everything else) crater.
We need to demand that politicians give us the straight goods, not what we necessarily want to hear.
My hometown newspaper, the @winnipegfreepress is producing another one of its "24 Hour" projects later this week.
If there's anything that Winnipeg should be proud of, its the fact that we still have an independent daily newspaper that takes its job very seriously.

Perhaps some signs of accelerating progress for Ukrainian forces?
"Further tactically significant Ukrainian gains in and around Robotyne in western Zaporizhia Oblast are widening the Ukrainian breach of Russian defensive lines in the area and threatening Russian secondary lines of defense."

(2) It's hard not to choke up a little when Don Wittman begins speaking at 1:58 in.
It's been a long time since I've seen a scam attempt this silly. Kind of makes you pine for the good old days when it was a whole lot easier to avoid online fraud.
One hell of a game by Rachel Homan and her team! Team Canada wins the Worlds for the first time since Jennifer Jones in 2018. Her "3" in the 9th end sealed the deal.
Sometimes when you get older you reminisce about a place and you long to go back. Then you realize that even if you did go back that place wouldn't be there anymore. It only existed as you experienced it in that moment of time.
That place is gone forever and only exists with you.
@mike This is so true. You can never go back and experience a place in the same way you did the first time. Having said this, taking kids to that place and seeing it through their eyes is the next best thing.
Happy Draftmas Eve, for all those that celebrate! The football season is about to begin!
NFL draft tomorrow, CFL draft on April 30th, and my beloved Blue Bombers open their rookie camp on May 8th. Looking forward to 8 months of football action!
So, he's a righty (a need for us). And The Athletic says that he's a good 5v5 player at both ends of the ice. So, seems like another savvy pickup by Cheveldayoff?
I love hearing AI advocares talk about "guard rails" and "safety procedures". We're actively building an intellegence that supercedes our own. It's like a monkey saying it's developed safety procedures to keep the humans in line.
