Sometimes when you get older you reminisce about a place and you long to go back. Then you realize that even if you did go back that place wouldn't be there anymore. It only existed as you experienced it in that moment of time.

That place is gone forever and only exists with you.

It's a lonely feeling.

@mike This is so true. You can never go back and experience a place in the same way you did the first time. Having said this, taking kids to that place and seeing it through their eyes is the next best thing.

@Diggler67 @mike One exception was the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. I felt like a kid again, and the extra bonus was they still had Mold-a-Rama machines that were there when I was young! Cost a few bucks more, of course, but to have a plastic dinosaur made right before our eyes took me straight back to 1966!
