Seems like Sunak wants to pass the responsibility to councils to enforce his ridiculous anti-smoking ideas. So they first will need to issue enough fines to pay the salaries of the new officers-required to enforce this mess. Then it will simply send the vape market underground and make it more dangerous.

What was needed was ban on marketing to children and vapes loaded with sugar, as well as requiring retailers to recycle.

If there was a genuine safety or security threat from Chinese EV batteries, and not merely Republicans apparently point-scoring with the xenophobic base, then there might be a point to restricting EV consumption from China.

I don't see how the battery technology alone would pose a security threat though (arguably not nearly as great a one as having cheap security cameras all over the place anyway).

If that group, the Houthis, has been attacking commercial tankers-then according to international law there's no right to 'self defense' inside Yemen's territory-since it wasn't the sovereign state of Yemen that attacked the tankers.
