"The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered Israel to halt its military offensive inside Rafah" & to open Rafah border crossing for humanitarian assistance.

"South Africa had asked the World Court to impose new emergency measures halting Israel's military campaign in Rafah.

"The new ruling cannot be enforced by the Court, & Israel has previously indicated it would continue its military campaign in Gaza, despite any ruling."

"Israel bracing for ICJ verdict"

At 3 pm today, the ICJ president will read out the court’s ruling on South Africa's tequest "to order Israel to immediately stop its military operation, not only in Rafah but in the whole of Gaza."

While it would be a binding order, "the court can’t enforce it. It doesn’t have a police force. But it will be very significant to hear what the court has to say."

The Israeli military confirms Netanyahu received prior warnings about Oct 7. Netanyahu denies it.

"Netanyahu received 4 warning letters between March & July 2023 from the Intelligence Division concerning how Israel’s "enemies" perceived the societal divides in the State of Israel & their effect on... the IDF in particular".

"The information was obtained in response to a Freedom of Information request by the Success movement."

"The EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borell, warns Israel not to intimidate ICC judges"

Earlier this week after the news of a potential ICC warrant, Netanyahu said he had no fear of travelling internationally & that Khan "should be concerned about his [Kahn's] status”.

"Khan says he was also warned by a senior western official that the ICC should be for Africa and for thugs like Putin, not for the West and its allies."

Analysis

"The ICC was built for Africa & for thugs like Putin... not for western & west-backed leaders", a senior US politician told ICC prosecutor Karim Khan.

This is the first time the ICC has sought to prosecute senior officials from a US ally.

Republicans earlier told Khan, if he applied for warrants against Israeli leaders, he would be barred from the US.

Potentally, also, the US could pressure the PA to stop cooperating with the ICC.

"GOP lawmakers grill university presidents over campus protests"

Republican members "accused universities of being hotbeds of anti-Semitism."

Democrats argued the hearing was politically motivated, aimed at scoring points with right-wing voters. The war in Gaza was scarcely mentioned.

Dr Mads Gilbert, who has worked in Gaza for decades, says Israeli attacks on hospitals, mosques, education facilities & bakeries are "part of a campaign to eradicate the Palestinian society & any sign of Palestinian structures in the civilian life."

There's no proof for IDF claims that "hospitals are used by Palestinian fighters."

Students protested the Gaza genocide and the “unduly harsh punishment” of 13 students barred from receiving their diplomas due to their support for Palestinian rights.

More than 1,500 students had petitioned, & nearly 500 staff & faculty had spoken out against sanctioning the student protesters.

A leading Israeli rights group has exposed "violent settler take over of Palestinian pastureland".

B’Tselem "documented some 20 incidents where settlers & Israeli soldiers drove Palestinian shepherds out of pastureland in the occupied West Bank’s South Hebron Hills."

Since Oct 7, some settlers have joined Israeli "territorial defence" units, which have been issued military weapons & uniforms, making them hard to distinguish.

"Harris, Harris, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide”

At a trade union conference, union members denounced Harris & the Democratic Party & its complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza.

They called on their union - representing nearly 1.9 million US & Canadian workers - not to endorse Biden.
