    before i tell you to get off my lawn at least point me to an ipad-worthy programming app/paradigm/thing (no "ipad sucks" implied, genuine curiosity here)

    Apple’s game tools folks should really invest some in Godot; improve support for Swift, bring the WIP Metal renderer up to speed, add visionOS support for Compositor Services and RealityKit rendering (like Unity’s). It would be real nice to not have all your eggs in the Unity basket, especially with all the recent drama, and it costs comparatively nothing to invest in a tool like this on the ascent when it might pay off hugely years down the road

    so far my gui experience has primarily been with web stuff so learning cocoa is cool.

    it's nice to have an actual standard library and actual widgets. delegation is like doing event handlers but stronger.

    objective-c is weird and interesting. i'll probably end up using swift further down the road but having a good grasp of objective-c is worth it purely for knowing why swift is the way it is.
