J’y suis retourné une couple de fois récemment et je suis assez étonné de l’opinion générale des usagers sur /r/Québec. J’ai vraiment l’impression qu’une gang de boomers, ou du moins des gens extrêmement ignorants, ont pris Reddit d’assaut....

Non, je n’allais jamais là de mes 13 ans de reddit car c’était envahi d’étudiants gauchistes. C’était impossible de poster un article sur par exemple les temps d’attentes aux urgences, ou le système d’éducation, automatiquement tu étais downvoté à -20 par la brigade. Depuis le fiasco de l’API je n’y suis jamais retourné.

I’d use HEVC/H265 anyway, always, the best quality for its size. And AAC for audio

AAC if those old movies are in mono/stereo. Also AAC works everywhere, not sure for opus? It’s been a long time I ripped dvd to convert them.

it should be in your MS online account as someone wrote, but in case of, I always save it on a USB key, hidden somewhere. You can also print it, or take a picture of it with your phone. Because there is no way to get it back.

At an old place of work, someone wrote an awk script that parsed strings using regex from a CSV file, and it generated JavaScript code automatically. It was ~5000 lines of awk script, it was beautiful. I understood it after a couple of weeks, I was in charge of maintaining it, super interesting.

Wanting to dual boot Windows with Kubuntu. Am I fine getting a Windows 10 key instead of 11?

A couple of months ago, I wiped Windows off my old laptop and installed Kubuntu instead. Dear @firefox : Please stop saving images as webp when I drag them out of the browser. Forever stop that. Even if they are webp originally, just give me a setting to auto-convert them to JPEG. When I get a webp file the first thing I have to do is convert it manually if I'm going to do anything with it.

When I save an image, I want the exact same binary 1:1, not a recompressed one or whatever, I want the original picture, be it jpeg/png/webp, every graphics program can open webp, nothing wrong with it.

At least if you hate webp, convert them to png, but not jpeg…
