The Electoral College, which is utter bullshit of course, is the only chance they have of winning. They haven’t won the popular vote for President for quite awhile.

They’re afraid of the racists and hatemongers, themselves. If they stand up, those voters are gone.

I could be off, but that’s what I’ve seen for my whole life.

@MariaHill @serge @TonyStark The 19% didn’t really add up to anything because of the Electoral College. Didn’t seem like any momentum for a third party came out of that. He was kind of populist according to my parents and I’m not sure how much substance was there. My mom always sort of seemed like she found it embarrassing that he got that much. I wasn’t of voting age then either.

I can’t imagine it because Republicans cult vote and the rest of us with sense can’t afford…

Republicans are full on admitting they only want to run on the border but never actually fix it. It’s amazing.

They create chaos around a problem, never propose a solution, never sign on to an actual solution, create fear towards immigrants, and make sure Putin gets an advantage. Add tax cuts for the rich and personal rights removal and that’s the whole party platform.

That is why my account is locked. when I receive a follow request it reminds me to investigate their posts and replies before I accept it and follow back. It limits the annoying "shitposters", trolls and bots and it (hopefully) gives my followers a measure of protection against the same.

One of my favorite political action organizations, Swing Left, has announced a strategy for 2024. They're focused on 12 states that are critical to winning back the House for Democrats, keeping the narrow Democratic majority in the Senate, reelecting Biden-Harris, and building Democratic power in the states.

They plan to double down on supporting and building local grassroots groups, a key to current and future wins. It’s a great organization to get involved with.

@axeshun @TonyStark @philip_cardella Jaime Harrison almost beat Lindsey Graham in 2020 and became DNC chair in 2021. He’s also a Black person and it’s pretty important to other Black Democrats to have a Black person in a position of influence. I wouldn’t be out advocating for his removal based on stuff he didn’t do or wanting to alienate Black Democrats over things he didn’t actually do. Knowing when he actually took the position, kind of important.

I can’t believe it took me this long to figure this out, but there are really a lot of people with loud political opinions who’ve never done any actual organizing.

Like have never attended a town hall, or a petition gathering convention, or gone door to door, or done even some shallow discussions with anyone, let alone some deep, years long dives. Not gone to a borough meeting or a planning commission hearing or a school board meeting.

Never gone to a march. Nada.

I really hope that changes.

Overdraft fees are essentially just extremely high interest loans and they trap people in a cycle of debt. So this is yet another move from the current President to help most Americans.

If Trump and the GOP win in November, there will be no new federal rules and regulations to protect you. And likely repeals of any you have now.
