If Trump is reelected, I anticipate that one of his initial actions may involve significant changes to the Supreme Court. This could potentially be part of a broader strategy to consolidate power and establish a more authoritarian style of leadership.
She emerges every so often for a publicity stunt. Just once I’d like to see her offering real leadership or better solutions and maybe trying to set up a meeting with different groups to communicate.
All she does is stir things up in a negative way.
Thankfully her chance at being a president is similar to that of a cheeseburger while she blames everyone else for the Green Party’s failure to build an actual coalition.
He and Kushner would plow over the Gaza Strip and profit off development plus do everything Netanyahu wants. Maybe time for a new slogan though if the right can easily co-opt yours.
@Heimdall while Homer Plessy was being told by the Supreme Court equal protection under the law from the 14th Amendment did not mean actual equal protection under the law, corporations were told by the same court that they, corporations, were entitled to equal protection under the law.
White supremacists love to use legal protections for people of color, especially Black people, and mutate them to benefit only white people.
I don’t celebrate a passing or at least try not to but any fawning over Joe can miss me. If he didn’t want to be taken to any task for the harm he caused after he passed, he should have been a more ethical person while alive.
I’m glad that there is a competent federal government in place under the Biden administration during this difficult time and that Maryland has a good governor in Wes Moore.
@Heimdall Republicans in Congress who want funds when disasters strike their states better not be short-sighted now. Maryland is small but the Port of Baltimore is responsible for a wildly disproportionate amount of the economy.
The Key Bridge was visible from everywhere in Baltimore, though I liked it more from land than while ldriving over it as it was so high and long. I’m devastated for the families of the workers and grateful that traffic was able to be held so more lives weren’t lost.
@Heimdall I heard people on NPR last night (I think, maybe read an article? Too much media yesterday) about people saying stuff like "if Trump wins because we refuse to vote for Biden and stay home, it's Biden's fault for supporting 'genocide.'" No, if you don't vote, even for the one you perceive as the lesser evil, and the greater evil wins, it's your (collective) fault for not voting. Not a president for not being perfect. It's a binary choice. Pick the better one. Hint: it's not the fascist.
@MariaHill I feel bad for anyone suffering but a lot of people are suffering including me at various times. Considering nobody asked every single person why they were voting “uncommitted” I have to really question a lot of the reporting. A lot of reporting stinks now anyway. Nobody asked me why I voted for Biden.
Once the choice is here, we make the right one and that’s Biden and I’m not listening to anyone after that who doesn’t get it this time.
Most polls are total bullshit but come on Michigan. If these are really your concerns, Trump isn’t the guy that’s addressing them. Joe Biden has been addressing them and successfully.
“While nearly half of those polled said their political leanings have changed over the last five years, a majority agree that the top issues they care about are the economy, jobs, affordable housing and income inequality.”
@Heimdall sorry, that's a step too far. our democracy depends on this election...there is no time for this right now. Hold democracy first and then deal with this. Besides, Biden does NOT control Netanyahu
