I have always found foliage to be difficult to approach. Leaf brushes leave a lot to be desired. I end up hand painting a ton of leaves in order to feel any measure of satisfaction lol.

is nice and has - expectedly - lots of Suikoden feeling, yet after three hours of playing, the game hasn't really kicked for me up until now.

I'll surely give it more of a chance when I have time to play, but as it stands now with the wonky visuals on the Switch version and a cast of characters that just didn't connect with me until now, I'm not sure if it can be the new "Suikoden" game I craved for.

@docower oh interesting! For me the map, music and variety of cast encompasses the Suikoden feeling for me exactly. I think Nowa talking instead of being silent does throw me off a little and dungeons/bosses having gimmicks right from the get go and puzzles being a little confusing does make it un-Suikoden for me. However for what it's worth, it isnt Suikoden so I try not to compare like that.

I've completed Rising! It's a shame I can't port my Switch file to my PS5 Hundred Heroes for bonuses. It was a nice story and I cried a bit.

first impressions:
-ENG dialogue is excessive and doesnt match JP VO imo. I personally would have translated some lines differently even while keeping character
-Nowa is NOT a silent protag but I'll live (if I had a dime for every time he said Huh?)
-battle encounters still come at me like jump scares 2 hrs in

Beautiful game. Lots of detail into spritework and ost by legendary jrpg composers. Has heart of Suikoden games for sure.

@navi right now as a die hard long time old school Suikoden fan I can tell you this game is capturing that feel of those early JRPG days so well. The battle music sounds like baten kairos battle of valedictory elegy(?) And turns out it was composed by the guy.

Really looking forward to the musical arrangements by the Wild Arms composer as well. Its screaming homage to my era

@navi omg bc Suikoden was my first jrpg at the time, when I played ffvii I was so confused by the battle system HAHA

Baten Kaitos and Grandia are great games, I'm really excited you're trying them!

I just remembered tho that Suikoden games have a silent protagonist and the mc is talking quite a bit which throws me off. My only complaint so far with the game is I feel the English translation is a little excessive. (The JP VO doesnt say all of that/I would have translated some lines differently)

@ai6yr @Bodling Not only that but they guarantee the hose itself on being functional as a lifetime warranty. Cactus spine holes voids it because that was an external event that wasn't covered as affecting the hose's ability to work 😔
