Aren’t the last three all kind of the same? Especially C and D

I’m honestly astounded anyone outside of the US thinks about Ohio at all

It’s one of my favorite rums. Extremely funky. The nose is all banana leaf, and it comes through really well in the drink as well. I’m usually not a banana guy, but it’s great

It feels this way on the tech support side too. Why are so many customers so ignorant of the tech they use?

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

It was nice to have a button I could use to just crash the game on demand lol

Cartoon Dude is “Captain” Gavin, a civilian that got stuck on a replica Phoenix that was stolen by the Lower Decks crew, so they could use it to steal their own ship from dry dock.

When the Lower Decks crew made it aboard their ship, they left him to fly off in the Phoenix on his own for his “Trek amongst the stars!”

He was eventually rescued by Star Fleet, adrift near Jupiter

He loses points for the time spent as a lizard, I think

But Captain Proton has a Destructor Beam!

Rutherford probably would have been a good choice for Lower Decks. We know his past self was a champion sublight racer, and his current self beat him in a race piloting the Delta Flyer. He just doesn’t get much time behind the helm because he’s now an engineer first and foremost

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

I don’t know if she ever said if it was pilot error or not though. He was a test pilot, so the accident may have been due to a flaw in the shuttle he was testing

All of Trek has had rough episodes, so I can’t really hold it against Strange New Worlds. They do stand out more with only 10 episodes per season though

…an investigation determined the crash was ‘an intentional act’…The driver of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old Evan Miller…The vehicle went into a culvert behind the house before landing on the roof…

This man just racing game jumped his own car

It’s an easy mistake to make. Maps are quite misleading about the size of the Pacific Ocean

This sounds exactly like Hell in Good Omens

What made you choose your instance?

Following the spirit of spreading across the Fediverse (and because my main instance is down so many times, because diverse reasons) I’m intrigued about the joining instance process, because I honestly don’t know what criteria to have in order to join another one if I ever want to do it....

I was told, by someone I know in a local Discord, that it was a reddit replacement for Midwest leftists. At the time I didn’t know what Lemmy was. Now that I’m using it in place of reddit, it’s performing very well. I like our local instance a lot. I am tempted to move to Startrek.website though, just because I’m a huge nerd

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

At least it says preferred. At most places that means not necessarily at all, because people that have what they’re hoping for won’t apply, so they have to choose someone newer

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

Damn, you beat me to it. That’s my favorite episode

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

Well, I choose Q! The other Q from Voyager, played by Suzie Plakson, who also played Alexander’s mom!

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

My answer is AGIMUS, from Lower Decks s2e7. I’m a sucker for Jeffery Combs

When it comes to the corporate world, your purchases are like your vote in politics. WotC has done some stuff that lots of people (myself included) don’t like. They’ve also done some stuff people really do like.

The situation around the open gaming license was the perfect example. People boycotted D&D beyond, and other directly related products, but very few boycotted the D&D movie, because people wanted to discourage Wizards from the specific license changes, but didn’t want to discourage making good movies for our niche audience.

Obviously not all companies have separate things like this. Activision/Blizzard are more monolithic, and so selectively boycotting them is harder.

All this said, there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, so if any boycott is costing you too much, monetarily, mental health-wise, etc., you shouldn’t feel bad for breaking it

Throne room, rooms for the Lord, maybe even rooms for the Lady, if it’s big enough. They’d likely have formal and informal sitting rooms, studies, offices, personal libraries, private dining rooms, etc.

You also can’t have a keep without a vault/treasure room!

And, there’d probably also be a place for clerks, tax assessors, and scribes to work.

A keep is often responsible for the administration of a large domain, so it needs the capability to manage all that entails

Lure Balls! They’re such a fun design and such a specific use, they’re super satisfying to use. It helps that most of my favorite Pokemon are fish
