@fedilore@alex@lucretia@paragon@tbsbot I do to some point. Imho Ro has a bigger ego and criticism of him, his ideas and towards his projects offends him a lot. My unique interaction with him shows how he does see criticism as a threat. I can accept that people do have other values and are accepting shared blocklists even tho i dont like them. For example that happened with Seirdy. But Ro immediatly stepped out of line and has started to frame me as a threat.
certain instances / bubbles do remind me of the beginnings of totalitarian systems...
One reason for this seems to me that credibility is built up through a lot of interaction within a bubble thus opinions are no longer checked and are accepted as fact...
Another thing which enables such structures is, is that constructive criticism is increasingly no longer voiced but instead polarizing populist posts are written.
Both in combination are an increasing danger that I have noticed everywhere in recent years...
I still think that decentralized collectivism is better than centralized authorities, but if bubbles / collectives / instances think they know certain things better, without the urge to research and gather information, this could turn out to be very bad...
In general, it is necessary to regularly assess plausibilities, be a bit skeptic towards stuff and learn how to check sources... All of them are Properties which i think are increasingly being unlearned / forgotten...
Am I seeing this wrong? Is there a concept or a solution to these problems? These are things, not only related to fedi, which are part of my world-weariness in the last 2-3 years...
Perhaps one could say that skeptical thinking has not diminished, but that plausibilities are increasingly no longer being assessed... This would also explain why many people often assume the worst case scenario...
For my part, I first try to explain the world to myself by the fact that people primarily want to do good for their environment and not many of them have bad intentions...
why do some people hate "The Bad Space", i have been trying to figure out what the deal with them is but i havent seen anything sketchy from their websites or anything, and their "about" page doesnt seem bad, i dont notice any 4channer vibes, it just seems to be like a fediblock supporter, does anyone have any context to add? maybe im missing something? why do people seem to hate them? im genuinely confused about the whole situation.
@lucretia@paragon
In addition of this, there is proof that Ro`s Actions were transphoic (this is a reference to thegoodspace), that he spread Misinformation, a lot of times he framed others for things which didnt happen and he basically capitalized tbs.
@paragon@lucretia sorry i actually should work rn... i didnt really had the time to post references, my bad...
But i leave some references here: https://thegoodspace.neocities.org/ https://nya.house/Nya#replies For the framing stuff, that happened before the the good space happened, you have to scroll a bit its not reachable through a direct link since originally there were DM's which i published afterwards due to Ro framing criticism as threat and lying.
Misinformation can be seen within this Thread since Ro uses often his fight against racism as killer argument to avoid having to face valid criticism...
For the capitalization of tbs, you can take a look how Ro advertises his patreon as well as https://nivenly.org/docs/papers/fsep/ and at their page or as keyword to find more stuff...
@paragon@lucretia and dont get me wrong, Ro was forced to change some things since people started to see what it was... But that only makes the situation better to a very limited extent because the (in my view) fascist basic idea is still there and visible
@lucretia@paragon another fun fact: he setup a new instance to gather more reach (his own words) or in other words he is probably the most famous example of how to do block evading
@alex actually Ro became aware that I have always criticized with proper arguments so i was never framed as racist but instead of that im now used as an example for harassment
