Nope, it is sn app that can play videos from youtube, peertube, and z few others. You don’t log in to youtube, but you can create subscription lists and playlists and everything. Only the youtube algorithm doesn’t work on you.
That is only because it doesn’t keep all tabs loaded in RAM all of the time though.
If you open the same pages with the same installed extensions on both you will see similar RAM usage. It is only on restoring sessions or longer-term sessions that you will see a difference because FF will reload the page when it is activated again where chrome will keep it in RAM.
Banks in europe are much more up to date with tech.
They have APIs to sink transactions with external providers like nordigen API.
They have 2FA that is linked to your national identity card which is chipped
Nationally used apps that are universal 2FA linked to national IDs that banks, medical, and government services all tap into
Everything is contactless payment nowadays, the US just recently started contactless cards
Inter-bank transfers without external apps like venmo
There are MANY problems with EU people getting their banks to work on a rooted phone.
They will absolutely implement DRM if someone sells the bullshit to them under the illusion of “safety.”
Hell, the US had handwritten “vaccine cards” for covid while European nations even had open source user spinoffs on nationally funded apps linked to national IDs to manage COVID vaccination and testing passes.
How does it store them though? I thought (this was maybe long ago) they they were stored plaintext on your machine instead of in an encrypted vault like password managers.

Go with immich if you want to ever have multiple users.
Photoprism locks user accounts behind a paid subscription.
Pretty much everything is more full-featured on immich except for incomplete RAW format support because photoprism is mainly focused on photography and now businesses IIRC.
I would like to help an open-source project with UI design and UX design. I have over 18 years of experience in the field and have worked with desktop and mobile software on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Windows Mobile/Windows Phone. Unfortunately my knowledge of Linux is very limited but I'm eager to learn. Could you help me find a project? @thelinuxEXP@linux@macrumors@windowscentral@windows
Oh I get that. I have been making a flight stick with a bunch of curves. There is a ton of problems with solving and the utilities still, especially TNP, midpoint creation, subtractive pipe solving, and QoL things.
However, there are already devs working on it and now a private company devoting resources to it recently. What they still don’t have is a UX designer, purely from a resource standpoint.
The solver can definitely be done in parallel. A UX designer can not necessarily just as easily just as well work on multithreaded FEM solver debugging, curved surface resolution, etc… it is a different resource.
I think that one of the projects that needs it the most right now, a complete overhaul, is FreeCAD.
It needs a good, competent UX designer. Nothing has changed UX wise for like 6 years. Everyone who begins to use it quits saying that it is the biggest hurdle.
It is literally the only real classical FOSS CAD software and they have no UX designer as far as I know.
Yes, of course literally the one and only. I trust him too. He is the only one. Literally the only senator that I would actually trust to do the right thing, in both the Senate and the House.
1 person against 99 can’t do almost anything though. OP said plural senators
I really don’t understand that tech. If you have wireguard on your machine, it shouldn’t be able to leak your IP address in theory. Do they rootkit your PC or some shit?
My monthly electricity budget is fixed at ~200€ per month, regardless of the electricity I use.
Then at the end of the year I get a bill for an extra 2000€ even though I didn’t use much at all and the company claims that I used 99.99% of my electricity during the one most expensive month of the year.
Then we have to call them and say “that is literally impossible, you are scamming us.” To which they reply “we can’t see what electricity you use, we can only estimate it.” (How are they even an energy company in that case of all of their numbers are made up guesses?)
Then we go through a song and dance of using our smart meters monthly tallies to prove definitively that our usage was much lower and evenlt spread so we should actually be barely paying any extra or getting money back.
To which they reply “we will lower it to only a few hundred, we do so much for you and you should be greatful we worked so hard to get you this price.”
This is Belgium. This is a real service conversation. Fuck Mega, Fuck their lying scamming bullshit “service” and I hope every executive of mega gets their bedroom infested with wolf spiders and gets bedbugs.

Looking for a good, studio quality microphone that just works on Linux. Also wondering what software or hardware people are using for enhancing your voice.
Not a street or professional musician, but I wanted something that had great out of the box sound and stereo recording without brealong the budget. I got it on sale.
I don’t know the quality now that Logitech aquired them though. With tons of companies, Logitech drives the quality into hell for profit margins.
Jeff Bezos has liquidated over 10 billion PER YEAR with absolutely 0 effect on the stock whatsoever. People who make the stock argument really don’t understand the scale at which megacorps sell stock and also how fast it would recover. Yes, if beaks liquidated every stock in one day, his stock would crash… for about a day before it was all bought up by hedge funds instantly because they know that it will recover with no problem whatsoever. Then voila, stock price recovers.
I’ve got an old AMD Phenom II system in a 2U rackmount case that I want to run Jellyfin on. I need to add a graphics card so I can hook a monitor to it for troubleshooting etc., so I figure while I’m at it I ought to find something I can pass through for hardware-accelerated transcoding....
Well to be fair, the A380 runs circles around every cars you mentioned in encoding.
The A380 at launch beat the 3090 at encoding H.265 and h.264 and is the single cheapest AV1 transcoding card.
It has insane value. You wouldn’t buy it for 3D gaming because it has mediocre 3D performance for its class and the ARC cards in general absolutely suck on linux for gaming.
What's a good, cheap, no external power GPU to buy for VMs? Want to chuck a few in my Dell R730 server to make my desktop VMs more usable. Right now have an old K620 for a Windows VM, seems like 1030s are a good bet since I have a bunch of low profile slots I otherwise have no use for.
If you are debating on eventually doing a media server, Arc 380 is small form factor, no external power, crushes all encoding benchmarks, and only $150. Plenty of good used card options from a few generations back like some mid-tier gpus, but pretty future-proof as far as server performance if you have kernel 6.3+
Edit for anyone later: ARC sucks ass right now for gaming on linux as intel devs are 90% windows focused. Don’t take this advice for a desktop GPU
How do you handle.manhunter packs with that setup?? Without everything, 100% enclosed I get 50+ manhunter rabbits sent at my 15 colonists and even with multiple miniguns and snipers they will wipe me out. My fucking 16 skill sniper only hits 1 out of every 3-4 shots… insanity.
There really needs to be a variable system like there is on Assembly4, you can’t even see the aliased value in spreadsheets without clicking into the cell (which constitutes a change so the entire project recomputes) so I end up having to make another adjacent with the variable name in text. But no, that doesn’t work to just put in the name because the spreadsheet will interpret it as the variable since it is within the spreadsheet, you have to put quotes around it.
Also, changing an alias’d value in the spreadsheet on anything larger than an extremely basic part can take upwards of 5 minutes, even when solving the entire model only takes on the order of 10 seconds.
