The only thing with jellyfin is the constant subtitle issues for years that are very difficult to resolve I guess and inconsistent across different apps. That and sorting of non movie/show content and not respecting folder view.
I love nuclear energy. Well maybe to strong of a word. I am extremely favorable towards it.
But we needed to go majority nuclear 10-20 years ago...
There are so many nuclear safety regulations and red tape (for good reason) that it makes new reactors being started now not financially profitable. Renewables are mugh much better until the current highly excessible lithium deposits dry up (tons of lithium in the world, but a tiny fraction of it is minable without decimating the environment)
But that brings me to my main point: energy providers are constantly for profit just like leacherous landlords. Basic necessities should be run publically in many cases. If you can get electric prices so low that it is almost free provided a large governmental investment (a mere tiny fraction of the military industrial complex budget) then you could literally turn the world around in 10 years. But that is a pipe dream that will never happen.
Oil companies control all of the energy decisions around the world and will sooner invest in renewables than nuclear.
I'm considering setting up a NAS to backup my stuff and replace Google Photos. Currently I'm looking at Asustor AS6704T and Synology DS923+, with the former having more powerful hardware and hardware encoding, and the latter having a better first party software experience....
I haven't updated this year yet because by April they had none, but do they have multi-user implemented yet?
I see it on the featurelist as the 73€ per year plan, but as far as I knew, it wasn't implemented. I thought they said it would come to the normal version earlier?
I just want to use it will 2 named users for me and my girlfriend lol
Fair, I feel the same way and I wish I had the money for that. If I paid that price for every FOSS service I use I would be paying around 150€ per month just for software I use periodically or frequently to become independent from corporations lol
Though I would prefer a "pay what you want" to get the features for non-enterprise, but I know that most people would take advantage of that.
there's too many comments and posts for me to view all of them, so the way that we can deal with them is you, the glorious people of 196 reporting them as you see them.
Gross misuse of IE considering socialism is literally a less extreme version of communism.
Marxist-Leninist was literally communism where in their own words it was "a dictatorship of the proletariat". Where Marx and Engels literally dismissed socialism as "a middle class movment of quacks." In Marx's outline of socialism, it literally disregards it as "capitalism still exists to a lesser degree." ML-communism is authoritarian and completely different that most forms of socialism as well as "pure" communism.
Socialism, on the other hand has either state-controlled or private-but-worker-controlled economy with a democratically elected government and not necessarily single party. It was an entirely other school of people and ideas. China is not socialism as their government is not elected, but appointed by a ruling party. It is a statist-oligarchy plain and simple.
Socialism is constantly misused. Stalin and hell, the Nazis called themselves socialist even though they weren't at all. George Orwell actually said that Marxist-Leninist communism has circles around and is on the right again.
They actually seem like quality phones when my girlfriend’s friend got one, but seriously? No headphone Jack and force you to use wireless buds that will have to be thrown away when the tiny battery degrades?
Remember everyone, clean out your cold humidifiers at least once a month. Otherwise you are literally just spraying mold spores into the air to breathe in. It is linked to respiratory health problems.
A while ago, I went to this coffee shop that serves coffee in two different cups. One is a ceramic "aroma" cup, and the other one is more similar to a wine glass....
I don't know about "scientific", but drinks communities of all kinds swear by glass shapes providing different flavors due to aeration and nose contact for smell.
Wisky glasses have different shapes. Don't gete started on beer glasses here in belgium there are like 100 shapes.
Wine glasses are different between red and white.
Though I think in "reality" it has more to do with variations in 2 different brews, temperature of the coffee, and the visual/touch components of holding two different glasses. That's also why presentation is a big part of food.
Ideally what im looking for is something like a nest hub but without any built in assistant. I was thinking about buying a cheap tablet and keeping it on a dock or making something custom with a raspi but im curious if anyone has found an off the shelf alternative?
Pi's are very hard to find these days. If you don't want to go full DIY assembly and service setup, then best bet would be a cheap android tablet, maybe rooted with LineageOS if you really don't want an assistant and no tracking, then just use the homeassistant app as a dashboard on it. You can buy a 90 degree power cable so that it isn't too noticable or even a flexible Qi charger adapter and put the charger hidden in a mounting bracket behind it.
I just started rimworld. I am having a hard enough time even having my colony of 5 people and 40 turtles survive through the -20 degree weather without travelling almost at all 😅 a whole other level here. I can’t mine enough resources at home to expand my house as much since there is very little steel.
For me also on the Chromecast app and the android app, subtitles will progressively get more and more and more out if sync until it is like a 2-3 second difference then holds there.
I know that the subtitles I got for the episodes are in sync and on the web app they are in sync.
Any small-load tools are fine like screwdrivers, measuring tools, maybe some clamps would be ok, but anything with a motor or that had a lot of force put on it is going to break with the bad metal used.
I’ve played this game since it first came out and I fell in love with it. The game has improved so much over the years and anytime you don’t like something you can bet your ass there is a mod for it....
Well damn, then the things that are quick for a contractor but hard to DIY and have it look nice like tiling, flooring, and drywall are probably best left to a professional. Thanks!
Hi, I am looking to make my first dedicated jellyfin server rather than running it on my desktop, but don't know what gpu to get. I will have only a few users and want to avoid Nvidia because I will be on linux + foss drivers. Any recommendations?
If you have (or will soon have) kernel 6.2 or higher, get an Intel Arc A380.
150€
great h.264 & h.265 performance, VMAF scored above 3090 in most cases, especially at lower bitrates. Tests were done at release and drivers have only improved
