Daily #Wales today is a bit urban. Well, as urban as we get round here - welcome to Barmouth. Oh yes it is…
(Seriously, too many visitors miss exploring the area known as ‘the rock’, which might delight friends who live there, but IMO is a bit of a shame. It’s a labyrinth worthy of a Mediterranean hill town … er, I might have had too much coffee.)
Daily #Wales today comes from - gasp - ten years ago, when the weather was glorious and I visited friends on their farm near Trawsfynydd. In the distance is land which the poet Hedd Wyn would have walked (and the more recent nuclear power station is out of view to the left)…
Daily #Wales is back on flowers today, so possibly #bloomscrolling with an added orange-tip butterfly (and just a hint of a purple fritillary flower in the background, left hand side - they’re good this year).
@KateCelyn
😔
My narcissi haven't even made it above ground yet. Last year they didn't bloom until July.
Wind speed first thing was faster than the last named storm we had.
Daily #Wales is back to wildflowers today, so also a #BloomScrolling - this is a Heath Spotted Orchid which appeared briefly in the meadow a few years ago, never to be seen there again (sniff)…
Daily #Wales heading bravely to the beach (OK, am currently drinking coffee inside) where high tide + strong winds have meant overtopping flood warnings for later today. Pic from 2014’s big storm aftermath; fingers crossed for no repeat.
Daily #Wales today is another #bloomscrolling - hopefully some of my later daffodils will survive the predicted storm but, just in case, here some of them are in their glory. And sun…
Daily #Wales today is up in the hills above Harlech / Barmouth. Some people find it bleak; I love it. It’s the haunt of ravens and peregrines and there’s always something to see (providing you avoid the idiots wrecking some paths with quadbikes, that is)…
