#Yay - the first rhubarb harvest of the year. It's so tasty.

We regretted not maximizing our rhubarb desserts last year, so will try to harvest the bejezus out of the plant this year.

Set up an old Android phone as a front door camera and integrated it with HomeAssistant, and have it announcing visitors when motion is detected. A friend of mine joked about face detection .... and omg it's actually supported: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/facebox/

Finally got my external access working for HomeAssistant. Lots of screwing around with DNS and reverse proxies. I am far from familiar with this stuff, but managed to get it working. Learned lots too.

Damn, my Pixel 7 Pro greeted me this morning with a boot loop. Probably from an update. I can get to the bootloader, but it boot loops even when trying Recovery or Repair mode. Guess it's time for a new phone. Good thing my PIxel 2 still works.

Skipped my very first game of curling today. Lost, but only by two points. Lots of pressure, and I kind of miss sweeping. Calling sweeping is going to take a bit more practice.

Seeing a lot more people wearing head protection at curling after a couple of nasty incidents. One of the incidents was a person wearing a helmet and fell hard enough that it was still a potential concussion. Without a helmet it might have been fatal. It seemed to get people's attention.

Neighbours dropped by with a Bourbon Pecan pie for us. With extra bourbon sauce. Another with a plate of various cookies. Another with cinnamon rolls. We generally do a chocolate pecan brittle for them. I see some weight gain in my future.

I'm generally quite excited in general about the PWHL but today I saw a headline about how Boston is the first team to qualify for the Walter Cup and I wondered what that was named for...

... only to found out that it's named for Mark Walter, the male founder of the league and owner of all the teams. Gross, man.

They don't even have names for the teams yet, but the cup? Yup, named after some fucking billionaire.
