@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

@tk

I wouldn't take it personal.

I still remember there being a ton of hate towards this game on message boards back then.
They were focussed on the art style and little else.

Then again, Nintendo got a ton of hate back then no matter what they did. People just couldn't handle them being so successful for some reason.

I've seen a couple of amazing videos of the comet fragment that shot over Portugal and Spain last Sunday, but I wanted to share my favourite one in case people hadn't seen it.

A girl filming herself outside at night as a blue, greenish comet shoots overhead and lights up the entire sky as she turns around in awe to watch it.

@Dr_Ubertrout due to my work hours, combined with biking home for about half an hour next to a river, on a tiny road with no houses for miles, nor any lights, I’ve seen quite a few shooting stars. Including a couple of rather big ones.

But I’ve never seen anything like this at all.
It’s gorgeous! And to be so lucky as to capture it so perfectly on camera as well. She must have lost her mind. I know I would have. 😄

@brakeoutgaming
I saw that one too. It was amazing. 😅

One more shoot em up collection pickup.
While the three Strikers games are brilliant in their own right, one of my absolute favourite Psykio games is on here as well: Dragon Blaze.

I fell in love with that one when I imported the Japanese releases of Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol.2 and 3 in June of 2005 on PlayStation 2.

If you've never played this one, I can't recommend it enough.

I was watching a video on the review scores for Paper Mario and this popped up.

They really are completely clueless about everything aren't they?
How is this a good look when trying to advertise your AI crap?

Never mind the linking of the Vulcan salute with the phrase "Resistance is futile".

But actually thinking that it's a great way to advertise this crap by stating that it'll swallow everything up, no matter wether we fight it or not.

Yeah, brilliant advertisement there! :cat_ick:

@imalcolm

I'm completely baffled by this.
How did this even get past the original pitch?
Who would even make such a pitch?

There really was no one along the way who went "wait a minute! aren't we stating that we're the bad guys here?"

Why would a Vulcan want to assimilate us against our will?

It's all just do dumb...
Reminded me of this:

Switched over to Mac about 20 years ago and yeah, I'm never going back to Windows...

OutofPrintArchive,

@imalcolm

Basically.
And perhaps it's just me, but such a thing makes me want to say "we'll see about that" even more so.
Heck, they didn't even offer cookies for joining the dark side...

And yeah, Apple have plenty of issues for sure and lost a couple of steps over the years.
But I measure these things by my personal frustration level and I just know if I had to switch back to Windows at home, I'd go insane. 😅

@cstanhope

haha, you might actually be right about that.
It's the only thing that really makes any sense. 😂

You might be giving them a bit too much credit.
It’s not like they don’t have a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot time and time again…

OutofPrintArchive,
@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games avatar

@inpurpleshadows
As someone else mentioned, it looks like it was created with AI. Which really makes the most sense as it would be quite a feat for a human to create something so bad and actually get paid for it.
Then again…

I hardly ever go to Metacritic myself, so I can’t really comment on that last part, I’m afraid.
