Yes, that's a feature on the website and some clients as well.

I wish @tut had more of those features, but it's really a 90/10 thing. It has 90% of the features I want most of the time, and for the 10% it doesn't have, it's easy enough to pop into something else for a moment.

Only in the sense of selecting the visibility. Also, some Mastodon forks have the ability to not federate a post (visibility=local server)

Here I am reading toots about no longer needing to upgrade to the latest gadget from a phone so old I only have 8g of main memory and a camera that gives me ok pics when I take them under optimal conditions.

Ok, I've got the Translucency and Blur options turned off in the "Desktop Effects" control panel, but I've still got an Application Launcher that's a bit too transparent for my liking.

Oh dear. Plasma is such a pleasure until you start mucking about with settings %)

If the "dock" is just a standard KDE panel, you should be able to switch it to a floating panel.

Very minor, but one thing does better than is provide a graphical mouse cursor in text mode (fb).

It's a neat little OS. Kinda halfway between and 's razor focus and minimalism, and 's sprawling feature set and bloat.

It's a stupid rubric, but I always judge a system by mount |wc -l (taking into account if there are many actual volumes mounted). If there's more than 10 non-disk volumes by default, that's kind of silly.

/ with is the very worst offender in this category.

They both have optional mouse support. It's just that 's mouse cursor is an actual graphical mouse pointer that moves pixel-wise, while 's gpm provides a DOS-style text block cursor that moves character-wise.

It the very silliest bone to pick, I admit. I just thought it was neat.
