The eyes from the billboard turned mournful, an empty expanse of blue. The lights of the city, blurred hazy and reflected. and at the very bottom, the road that runs through everything.

@dbsalk @bookstodon For the classics, I was just looking at the Penguin classic covers and there's a lot to like in there.

I hadn't seen this cover for the Handmaid's Tale, which is really great.

@PeteLittle1970 @bookstodon Oh, 100% yes! I love the old painted style. And the old scifi look is just classic. The one that comes to mind for me is this one. And I'll be honest, I don't remember the story at all, but that cover! :blobcat_flop_woozy:

@SchlocklusterVideo I'm loving going back over these. I know the plots are messy, and I know there are a lot of things that don't always make sense, but dang, the man could really build a scene. And the characters Chandler cares about? Just brilliant!
