I'm 28 and into science, writing, linux & open-source content. I've currently got way too many Mastodon accounts to keep track of lol!

Currently, I'd like to move to another country for a few months; but I'm unsure where.

I'd enjoy a place that is into socializing with the locals, relatively walkable, and isn't so full of people primed to 'talk at you' for 2 hours straight about personal gripes & politics lol.

Any suggestions? 😅

mookie, to Disney

One of my favorite movies of last year, Prey is getting a physical release.

Thank goodness is not locking up their streaming movies on their streaming services like other streamers are -- looking at you , give use Glass Onion on Blu-ray already!

The news of Prey's physical release makes me happy.

Is for you mainly a system of or also of ?
I'd love to know more about open source hardware projects like this amazing : https://grabcad.com/library/open-source-cargo-bike-1#!
Also, I think it'd be great if unrealized projects were open sourced more often.
Or ideally, let's open source everything! 😜😇

@amadeus - the only open-source gadgets I've gotten my hands on is stuff from Pine64. I've really been enjoying the smartwatch from them, and at some point, I might even go for one of their phones :)

plantgeek, to LinusTechTips

Since I spoke about Linus tech tips it begs the question did he even try to install Linux correctly as he’s coming off quite incompetent for someone who works with tech lol

@plantgeek - I'll be honest with you, I was super flabbergasted at how much trouble he was having installing Linux lol.

The terminal would literally tell Linus the next steps to take, and he'd just completely skip over reading them and throw his hands up lol. I knew something was fishy in terms of computer literacy just from that.

    @mightyspaceman - what was the round trip for your Kerbals? Never been to Eeloo yet, but I know its quite a number of years to reach.

    @mightyspaceman - how does science mode work? I've only played in Career because I like the missions/funds management.

    Does anyone play on ?
    I'm going to sell my as-new 2 e-ink tablet and am considering buying a steamdeck, because my laptop just isn't stable enough to play yet.

    Does the steak deck handle well? What about ?

    P.S., I have the native KSP binary for Linux

    TheEnquirer,
    @TheEnquirer@mastodon.social avatar

    @RL_Dane - hey, is Linux native KSP also independent of Steam? Allowing you to copy the game and execute it from new folders elsewhere on your computer?

    I used to make tons of personal copies of KSP on Windows, as I enjoyed playing different versions on the go.

    TheEnquirer,
    @TheEnquirer@mastodon.social avatar

    @RL_Dane - thank you! I think I'll give that a try then. Firejail is a good recommendation.

    The Steam version of KSP seems DRM-free too on Linux; just tried moving it between my laptops.
