Diagnosed at 60 as #ActuallyAutistic. Still trying to work out what that means. Strong opinions, many interests, boring AF. I don't get out much because of physical limitations and fear of #COVID

Good Morning Tiny Dancers.
I've been working for 16 minutes and have already seen a penis. It is too early for cocks.

Yes I'm working a car company, you'd think that would mean no dicks. You would be incorrect.

On today's walk, we passed a truck parked across the entrance to our road with driver seemingly asleep. On our way back, the truck & man were still there & a neighbor was parked behind him on her phone. She was concerned, didn't want to approach on her own, so she called the police.
N and I walked over & tapped on his window. Turns out he's older, is struggling on his own w cancer, trying to get to the doctor & his truck wasn't cooperating.
Hoping the police hooked him up w medical transport.

I have been awake since 530. Because the workers renovating the crappy old light industrial building directly across the street arrived then. And at 6 am they started their scissor lift, which moans like a dying cow every time it moves up or down, or drives along the building. MOOOOOaaaannnn whirrrr clatter "Oi! Watchit, maate!" Bang Bang bang bang MOooAaannn whirrr Baang bang...
Might as well get up then I suppose.

Arvo, Toots! Achievements so far today: has been to see her friends at the vets. She hates the car ride there, but adores the vets - so her 2 monthly “spa” visit (anal glands, nail trim, general check over, medication update) was a success. She snuggled in the back seat on the way home. Partner then did groceries, I replaced the batteries in my iPad keyboard case - took a bit of doing, but done! Now I’m updating my lists, and thinking about what to make for dinner.
And you?

Today's complaints from work (so far).

  1. Someone who bought a different brand of car because the brand I work doesn't make a minivan, and wants the brand I work to pay half his car payments since he had to go elsewhere.

  2. Someone who was asked for her phone number when she dropped her car in for servicing and is deeply offended that she has to hand over her personal information like that. Presumably she was expecting to find out when her car was ready via ESP.

Speaking of movies, I also watched “Page Eight” on Netflix, forgetting I’d actually bought it. I thought with that cast, how could it suck?

It sucked because of the director and writer, David Hare, forgot he wasn’t writing a stage play, and has no idea about (a) spy thrillers and (b) how normal people speak. I mean, Bill Nighy did his usual heroic best, but the fucking script made him sound like an idiot. Poor Michael Gambon was very poorly served
1/2

anathema_device,
@anathema_device@bne.social avatar

2/2 Pro tip - if you have your hero ‘love’ jazz to make him sound deep and meaningful, you’re a lazy fucking writer. If your characters order whisky, and you don’t have the waiter ask what kind and ‘with ice’ or not, you know nothing about whisky drinking. ‘Johnny’ is a stupid name for an English character. And if you can’t even be bothered to learn how document classification works, then just don’t write a spy thriller at all.

Such an extravagant waste of talent to make a silly boring movie

Finally watched “Glass Onion” last night, and enjoyed it a lot. Probably not a rewatch, unlike “Knives Out”, but it was great fun, and Janelle Monae was so good. Amazing cast, but with Kate Hudson, Janelle, and Daniel Craig chewing up the scenery, the other just faded into background :)

I liked how mask use indicated character too. Sadly accurate.

Best of all, It was a huge troll of Elon Musk, and I am so here for that❤️ (and for Phillip. We need more Phillip in the next movie!)

anathema_device,
@anathema_device@bne.social avatar

@arisummerland They’re very different. I just found the first story more tricksy, and Ana de Larmas so winning. I’m also a huge fan of Chris Evans :)

Norton is great too. But he didn’t have to switch from charming to villainous the way Evans did.

Maybe I will watch it again ;)
