The fact that you can follow the president of the United States (@potus) from your Mastodon account instead of being forced to have an X or Threads account for it is a huge W in my book. Of course our team is fully available to help if they'd want to set up Mastodon on whitehouse.gov. I believe governments should not rely on 3rd party platforms to connect with their constituents.

Hoi @publicspaces, zijn er al plannen voor een eigen Mastodon/fediverse-server van de publieke omroep?

O.a. het NL onderwijs (https://social.edu.nl) en de NL overheid (https://social.overheid.nl) gingen al voor, net als de Duitse omroepen ZDF en ARD (https://zdf.social en https://ard.social) en ook de Britse BBC (https://social.bbc). Voor meer achtergrond:

Dank voor jullie reactie! Ik dacht: ik schrijf jullie aan omdat 1) de NPO zelf niet bereikbaar is via de en 2) omdat jullie gelukkig wel via de bereikbaar zijn, mijn vraag aansluit bij de hoofddoelstelling van jullie stichting, en de NPO een van jullie ondersteundende partners is. Goed dat jullie navraag doen. Ben benieuwd!

De al mooie lijst met NL overheidsorganisaties op Mastodon is alleen maar beter geworden. Raad van State, Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur, Rekenkamer, RIVM en Veiligheidsregio Brabant-Noord doen nu ook mee in de pilot, 14 organisaties nu. Volg ze, ze verdienen het!

👍 Het zou mooi zijn als issue wordt gefixt, zodat de lijst met overheidsorganisaties op social.overheid.nl eenvoudiger inzichtelijk is.
