I'm working on an experiment to create a fediverse outpost for my small town, as a possible approach to supplementing or (ideally) replacing the Facebook group that currently is the source of news in the community.
Advice on next steps? Looking at various things now e.g.
-- Find a hosting service specialilzing in Mastodon?
-- Install myself at the hosting company I use for my blog?
I still need to take this 5e #DnD subclass for a test drive.

You attempt to forget your past. Your neighbors may look at you as a hero or a villain. You go about your days, an expert smith, carpenter, or other artisan.

I've found that playing a #DnD Artificer is a wonderful creative challenge.
I'm describing every spell effect via the pseudomagical-mechanical system that is Artifice in this world.
One example - magical tinkering to create a little sign so that my group knew I went up a ladder.
Another was to have my beetle-crab 'eldritch cannon' pick up a hurl a block and tackle to represent casting Catapult.
Another was when I used Caustic Brew it came out of a prepped flexi-glass vial like a squirtgun.
I'm absolutely cranking Queen while cooking dinner tonight.
All the windows are open, because it's warm. The neighbors are getting a good listen to Fat Bottom Girls, Lover Boy, Under Pressure
One neat trick on the "mainstream" social platforms is to find any brand that posts positively about LGBTQ+ issues and then block everyone who gives a negative reply.
