Tales of the Valiant impressions time!

what they promised broadly: an updated and more freely licensed game based very closely on D&D5e.

what we got broadly: pretty much that. and it's plenty good enough to switch to from 5e, even if it could have been better.

there's a lot of good and bad, gonna thread some thoughts

@chaosfae the WotC 2024 UA Monk is vastly superior to ToV and 2014. I expect it to be dialed back a bit, but it will still be better

For the first time in my life I went to a Speaking for the Dead. Yes, like the idea promoted in the second book of the Ender Saga.

We didn't know that's what we were going to. The memorial was harshly honest about a life that can only be described as brutal.

I don't think the family was ready for it. But it helped me.

    It tells me that person and maybe even that game are unconcerned with what happens during play

    There's a volume of music that is too distracting to work at (varies by the individual song).
    This can be changed by going loud or quiet enough that it is no longer an issue.
