Objects transfer their momentum to the Player upon jumping off of them 🏃 💨 🟦
The momentum value also gets stored for a couple of frames after stopping to widen the time frame that grants maximum velocity

A collection of subtle mechanics to make movement feel better:

  1. The player slides around corners, if they would hit their head against the ceiling by just a few pixels.
  2. When pressing jump just before hitting the ground, it will be executed upon landing
  3. A small window after losing the ground beneath your feet still allows you to jump
  4. The player scales small height differences automatically; which is important since you can create a platform yourself
