is the material I like best.
It requires slow speed (40mm/s on my Sovol), but the output is smooth, flexible, and most important, layer adhesion is great. Almost no stringing.

@po3mah wow this looks awesome! I really want to try printing TPU on my P1S, but I’m very initimidated because all the pictures I see of people’s prints look so stringy. What is this that you’ve printed?

Has anyone tried these? Do they work? I love to read to fall asleep and my partner hates the small book lights I have.

Are these a good option to only light up the page and not shine into your partner’s eyes?

Today’s the day I fix my screens I guess.

I have these two next to my front door, one shows where my car parked (redacted) and one shows the day’s weather. I thought the weather one died because I couldn’t ssh to it, but a restart fixed that (after I’d unplugged everything and pulled it off the wall of course).

It wasn’t working because I accidentally left a reference to the darksky API (RIP) and Jan 22nd was apparently the day that decided to break my code.

All fixed now!

I wanted to share this happy accident. Ran out of filament during a test print where aesthetics didn't matter. Swapped to next "whatever" filament.

I LOVE this transition from shiny rainbow layers to flat grey. Would probably be great with matte black too.

Not great for THIS particular application, but I can think of a lot of places where a band of flat color in the middle of - or end of - a longer print would be "chef's kiss"

@masukomi what brand of filament is that? I can’t figure out if the rainbow looks so much cooler than the filament I have because of how well it plays with the grey or because it’s actually a cooler looking rainbow than what I have laying around

I recently upgraded from my perpetually broken to a and wowwwwww.

I feel like I was driving a go kart that I had built myself and now I bought myself a Porsche. The price increase was similar 😂

Suddenly printing is fun again! It just works. Nothing goes wrong. All the features I want are there and work perfectly. All the models I wanted to print but never did because I knew they wouldn’t come out right on my old printer I can finally print! And it’s FAST.

This isn’t really my brand on here but another thing that’s pissing me off today:

Why can’t I go to the pharmacy and buy just one or two tampons? You can buy a travel set of toothbrush/toothpaste or a small size of Tylenol.

But if you’re away from home and unexpectedly get your period, you have to buy a $30 thing of feminine products and then carry around a giant box for the rest of the day. Or (worst case) trash the rest because the box doesn’t fit in your bag.

After years of frustration trying to bring our bikes on trains, we finally splurged on some folding bicycles. We have joined the cult of Brompton, AMA.

Maggie went for an acoustic bike, while I chose an electric model.

@skyfaller ugh, that looks so convenient. It’s simply not possible to fit a full sized bike on regional rail, right? Speaking as someone who took up the whole booth of facing seats at the front of the car and my wheel still stuck out into the aisle

When I want to unwind and (mostly) disconnect, I shut down all tablets and computers. Then I pick up the Palma as needed to read, research, and relax. I only go online with it as needed and again, I'm very intentional about that.

@kevinctofel this is a great use case I hadn’t considered! I have always checked my Instagram stories before going to sleep and that used to be a 20 min exercise, but since they introduced reels I often find myself accidentally getting sucked into reels and spending hours on the app. I wonder if checking Instagram on this device would be able to discourage me from watching reels due to the low frame rate and that might help my sleep…. Can you install Instagram on this?

The Navy Yard’s autonomous shuttle is finally on the road!

As far as I know, this shuttle, made by Perrone Robotics, has the first and only autonomous vehicle permit in PA. Current schedule is to allow passengers to ride in Dec 2023.

The shuttle will run in a loop around the low-speed, wide roads of the Navy Yard and the route will not leave the Yard at any point.

Was that a couple F-16s flying over with afterburners on? I assume this has something to do with sports, and that they're not in a hurry to intercept a threat. Way too low and loud for my tastes.

@skyfaller it definitely felt much louder than the usual ones. I was about to turn on the TV to watch said sports game (I think it was military night) and still jumped out of my skin.

EDIT: I should have mentioned the coffee shop is Char & Stave, "an all day café & cocktail bar". I can't speak to the whiskey, but the tea and coffee hit the spot for us.

@skyfaller speaking of innovation without alcohol, I went to wm. Mulherin and sons the other day (great pizza, impeccable vibes) and they will custom make a NA cocktail just for you! I was very impressed. Just tell them what you’re looking for (ex. light and minty) and they’ll make one to your taste

@jerzone I’m getting really into doing maps like these right now! Did you mark the water by hand or is there some source of that data? I want to do topo maps with lake’s, but apps like terrain2stl often don’t recognize inland lakes and rivers as water
