@gamingonlinux the more i stay on the internet, the more i think most people with goes to any social network, switch the "common sense option" from their brain to off... my god! I'm seeing that the MAJOR social platforms (Twitter and Reddit) are making some poor life decision... I'm sure that there are people that will stay there, but i'd suggest to move to other platforms ASAP... it's doesn't have to be mastodon, obviously, but better than those money grub scum for sure!

    8 months ago i decide to change os on my pc, 'cause privacy concern and for a fresh start...oh boy i made a good decision! I'm happy to use my pc and not having continuous headache caused by Windows! For everyone who are not happy with Windows, try Linux, any distribution!!! Start with Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian or Manjaro (but i suggest to not stick with it since they always fuck up with something), breath some new fresh air!! And btw, i was the one who didn't care about the look..and look at this!

    Today i discovered that libvirtd.service, i don't actually know how and why, doesn't like extra files in its config folder... ad a couple of '*.pacnew' files and didn't wanted to start automatically... after a pacdiff and a reboot it started normally... like nothing happen...

    What did i achived today? I learned how to fix something myself!

    A little self-esteem boost 😅

    I'm a freaking moron! Tried to install NixOS 5 times already...forgot to uncomment the line of

    boot.loader.grub.device = "/dev/sda";

    @benjaminhollon since you use NixOS, i wanted to ask you this... if you give me, for example, you configuration file of nixos and i build it on my pc, i essentially have a nixos distro tailored for you, right? I can share freely my configuration file, but not the hardware-configuration (in case of different hardware), right?

    i think i'm gonna try it on a spare pc and use it for, idk, a week... when i was choosing my linux distro, i think i dedicated too much little time with every distro suggested to me... also since a couple of month, my pc keep freezing it self...i don't know if it is garuda, kernel, my pc asking for the final blow, idk... if it is stable like other peoples says, imma jump in!

    @benjaminhollon at the end of the day, like arch, i have to read the manual, which isn't the end of the world...
    I know that i can try it on a VM, but because of those freezes, i don't want to have problems mid "trial", you know?
    Installing it on a spare pc, i rule out some problems of the main pc...
    At the end, i could even swap harddrive and that's it!

    Finally, I took a look at NixOS, and the Nix package manager! And while I was very skeptical at first, after a week of use, it’s clear that this is an insanely powerful distribution, that is now at the very top of my list to replace Fedora on my editing rig.

    Let’s see why, how it works, and why it’s so good, even though it won’t be for everyone:
