Ich hab eine Frage: was braucht es um als Regierung eine Instanz zu betreiben? Ich hatte eine Diskussion auf Mastodon, dass so etwas in den USA nicht möglich wäre. Muss eine Regierungsinstanz besondere Vorkerhrungen für Datenschutz u.ä. treffen? Braucht ihr viele Menschen zur Moderation?

@mina nope, kann man soweit ich weiß. Es gibt Leute, die schreiben dann mehr Info in den Kommentaren, ich glaube aber nicht, dass die Kommentare statisch sind.
Deswegen machen sie den Text oft als Bildgrafiken oder eben als Storyposts

Anyone who wants to ‘help’ governments set up Mastodon or something erm, respectfully don’t understand governments. The problems are never ‘we don’t know how to do something’ (most of the times we know how to do something). The problems are why we can’t do something (never technical, always money, people, procurement and policies)

@skinnylatte i am sorry, but several european countries managed to get Fediverse servers to run. It's not that hard to do and especially the US government should have the infrastructure to accomplish this.
They just never did, because they did not see any value in it.

@skinnylatte in Germany we set up a department who is in charge of data infrastructure and safety. They set up the Instance and are moderating it.
Why would the US not be able to set up such a department?

Finde es wär mal Zeit, dass Journalist:innen anfangen könnten Friedrich Merz ernsthafte Fragen zu stellen.

Er ist kein Sozialpolitiker und hat auch kein spezielle Expertise, wenn es um Migration geht.

Fragt ihn doch mal lieber, wie wir die Transformation schaffen. Konfrontiert ihn mit den fossilen Investitionen von Blackrock und wie er sich das vorstellt mit der Regierung in den neuen Bundesländern bei 30% AfD. Und dann druckt doch mal bitte diese Antworten als Headline.

@benni er hat zumindest mal in diesem Bereich gearbeitet.
Das ist mehr Qualifizierung als jetzt z.B. beim Bürgergeld, weil in der Arbeitsagentur war er halt noch nie.

아메리카 is the continent.

@anneroth Immerhin diskutieren sie noch über den Schutz des Bundesverfassungsgerichts. Das Land hat das mit dem AfD Verbot durchdiskutiert und rote Linien gezogen, Menschen haben sich wieder mehr vernetzt und für viele hat es Energie gegeben, zu wissen, dass sie nicht alleine sind.

Hat's gereicht? Nein, aber wir wissen, dass ein kleiner Funke die Menschen wieder auf die Straße treiben kann.

Wisst ihr, was mich schon immer aufregt?

Religionsfreiheit bedeutet nicht nur, das niemand, der nicht glaubt, gezwungen wird zu glauben.

Es bedeutet auch, dass die Menschen, die glauben, auch öffentlich frei glauben dürfen.

Und ich weiß, dass ist schwer für Atheisten zu verstehen, aber die Menschen glauben halt und es ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil ihres Lebens. Toleranz muss für alle gleich gelten, die, die nicht glauben und die, die glauben.

@gavi it's slow, dry and slightly confusing. I always liked it because i found it calming. However, at some points there were new scientific theories or chinese history stuff showing up, i started to look it up and spend a lot of time researching and getting distracted from the book itself.

Does the really need to allow foreign schools to open branches in the country or own existing institutions? A lot of foreigners are coming here for better education. They wouldn't if our is as bad as supporters of the move paints it to be.

The way I see it, the problem is the half-baked education. It was only the first step. The next step is overhauling the entire curriculum, but they never did that.

It's Ramadan, the holy month, and stupid fundamenlist execute a terror attack in Moskau! Like as if muslims weren't already struggling with the weight of what is happening in Gaza, no, let's add to it by some asshole fundamentalists, that don't even understand their own religion.

@Gegenwind @mina ich versteh nicht, du sagst, wir sollen dafür Sorge tragen, dass China nicht weiter mit Russland handelt. Aber das ist unmöglich? Welchen Druck können wir auf China aufbauen, wenn wir komplett abhängig von dem Land sind? Der Westen ist mittlerweile ja eben nicht mehr geeint. Der globale Süden arbeitet im Zweifel allein.
