@maique what is your walkaround tool of choice?

@maique just goes to show it’s talent and experience over equipment, even if the latter matters when you need it.

Of all the types of people I have trouble understanding, it’s the people who never ask questions who baffle me the most.

What is something you discovered or got into later in life (hobby, interest, activity) that brings you a lot of joy or excitement? I’ve gotten stuck in my routine and identity. I’d like to branch out and do a little self discovery, but it’s been difficult with two kids under 5.

I’m skipping Easter with the in-laws today for my physical and mental health. I have some guilt about it, but I’m putting it out of my mind to enjoy the peace of this beautiful day by doing some minor maintenance on my car out in the sun. It’s well past time I started prioritizing my own care.

As much as I demonize the automobile for what it’s done to our cities, I still appreciate the engineering behind them.

Even something so simple as a differential is such an elegant solution to the problem of different radii between left and right wheel paths during a turn.

If anyone knows of any excellent food blogs, I’d be gratefully if you shared the love. I’ve been experimenting a lot more with new dishes and building my recipe book. TIA!

We aren’t vegetarian, but we’d love to have more meatless meals if you’ve got any ideas.

Still of the opinion Desaparecidos was Conor Oberst’s best music project. Admittedly it could be that I’m an urban planner and the album Read Music/Speak Spanish (2002) is a concept album about the devastation of suburbia, but it’s more than that.

While I’ve been doing a decent job of meal planning and trying out new recipes, I think much of the time I’d be happier just eating a bowl of cereal or having a sandwich.

Out-of-state urban planners showing up in Oregon and realizing that despite being 50 years behind us in terms of land use and transportation policies, housing is still twice as expensive as the Midwest.

Hey @maique, happy anniversary! Beautiful couple. Apparently we got married within a few weeks of each other because this month also marks 6 years married to my best friend (Feb 10).

I had a very writing and editing-heavy day at work. I started making dinner early, which took about an hour, and then played outside with the kids and roughhoused for 45 minutes. This somewhat shockingly only got me to 2500 steps. I did 40 more minutes of walking on the treadmill (2.2 miles) and now I’m only at 7066 steps. It’s no wonder we get fat with such sedentary jobs. I need to start walking while working.

Sticking with our yearly tradition that we started in 2016 of going to the coast the week of my birthday. Fingers crossed for some decent weather, but in all likelihood we’ll be at the pool!

Test drove a Model Y today (my birthday) and this was my first time seeing a Cybertruck in person. Honestly a bit smaller than I expected by the photos I’d seen.

The closer we get to any presidential election, the more posts I see about how bad gas prices have gotten. Adjusted for inflation, prices have remained essentially unchanged for nearly 50 years. Of all the things that have gone up in price, this is not one of them.
