Inspired by @Migueldeicaza , I was thinking, again, about what would be required to support a full IDE experience on an iPad. And the propects are grim.

LSP is just fundamentally incompatible with iOS. And even with spec changes (which I have roughly outlined) that could be hard justify, it would still require enormous work from each server implementation to support.

If I were Apple I would be near the point where I’d scratch the CTF, open side loading to the point that alternative app stores aren’t even needed, preinstall all alternative browsers and pull Apple Music from the EU.

Then I’d raise iPhone prices 5% in the EU markets as a cost for software customizations for #DMA.

Fun fact: being born on 03/03 really helped when we moved to the US, as I never had to get used to entering my date of birth differently on forms, since MM/DD and DD/MM are the same 🤓

I completely missed that #SwiftData can natively sync with #CloudKit.

Do I know anyone who has experience with it?

I've been pretty happy with CoreData + CloudKit (NSPersistentCloudKitContainer), but in a new SwiftUI app it seems reasonable to at least look at it.

OmniFocus 4 tip: no matter where you are, you can quickly add an item to your inbox or any project or tag using Quick Entry.

On iPhone or iPad, double-tap the floating Plus button (in the bottom right corner of the main outline) to bring up the Quick Entry screen rather than adding to the current perspective.

On Mac, use the global Quick Entry keyboard shortcut (configurable in General Settings). This shortcut works even when the app is hidden, so you can capture an idea and get back to work.
