I recently bought a Kobo Libra 2 ereader to replace my beloved (and dead) Kindle Paperwhite.
After a rough start (wouldn't connect to the WiFi, website is a bit shit) its turning out to be a lovely device.
Now... are there any tools I should know about. I want access to my stats damn it!

At work, challenge Three Letter Acronyms (TLA) at every opportunity.

  • They are a barrier to entry for those who don't live in your work
  • People are embarrassed to ask, so at best they are distracted Googling. Mostly they are now just not understanding
  • When used in combinations they make sentences difficult to parse. "We're targeting key SLOs as a way to maintain our SLAs as one of our OKRs for EOW".

I freaking hate them

My beloved gen 1 Paperwhite died and I've chosen to replace it with a Kobo Libra 2 and start to escape the Amazon ecosystem. I've already dedrmd all my existing purchases.
Ironically I had to buy my Kobo from Amazon, only place with any stock.

HSBC can absolutly fuck right off. I logged into online backing for the first time in a while and... my savings account isn't listed. Nowhere.
Chatbot - offline after 8pm UK (unless you install the app).
Ended up speaking to the UK lost card team who were very nice and pointed out the account had "been labelled as dormant" and thus delisted.
Absolute shit show.

Any #electrical or #electrician folks able to help?

I have 2 lights in my living room.
When both lights are off, the switch rockers are not in the same position, whic is very frustrating.
When I look at the wiring I am so confused.

Things to note in the photos - those two black cables going into a separate little block.

WTF is going on here?

There are no other lights or switches involved - it's not a "stair light" setup.

I've sent a little time this morning searching for articles around "patterns for service to service authentication" and found a couple of bits.

I'm trying to document/evangelise that evolution of patterns is OK (in fact preferable) to long cycle large shifts.

UK folks, anybody gone sim based broadband? Any opinions on . Friend in a rural area has great 5G signal but dreadful Internet over the phone line and fibre is years away. What kit will work well for a family of non tech folks?
House has a games console, iPads, Netflix TV etc.
