I haven't been following this because

a) I already dealt with it to my satisfaction when I domain-blocked Threads LAST YEAR

b) ugh, I just feel like there are bigger threats in my day-to-day

but just to check: an individual domain-blocking Threads is adequate to cast them into the blackness of the void, yes?

Yesterday I tried to explain to J-M about different biosafety levels: “BSL-3 is for airborne pathogens. BSL-4 is for airborne pathogens that people are scared of.”

Covid is level 3. It’s not less infectious, and we don’t have any treatments for its disabling long-term effects. It’s just not as scaaaaary (to the people who make these decisions).

I didn’t really do anything to mark the passage of our 4th pandemiversary. I thought I’d do a fun graduation ceremony for our 4 year degree in surviving a pandemic, but I just… didn’t. Part of me just doesn’t think it deserves to be marked. I aspire to be so deep into the process of acceptance—this is just the way things are, now—that it should be beneath my notice. Every day is the beginning of the rest of my life, which I will spend giving a shit about other people’s health and survival.

The Dungeon Master deserves a break, and I think I'm the one with the time and energy to run something, to keep the group together. when I browse online secondhand clothing shops, part of my process includes checking if the item is made of natural fibres so that a) it's not obnoxious to wear, and b) it will be suitable to be downcycled as a cleaning rag later. Sad, limp polyester is just… not ideal, at any point in its lifecyle. It's depressing, because there's so much of it, and it's so cheap… but I just don't really want to pay for the privilege of finally being the person to chuck it in landfill.

YouTube is suggesting A LOT of full-on fascist shit lately, and I don't think it has anything to do with my tastes. I block every single one of these fucking channels and they keep popping up. I mostly watch crochet tutorials and bushcraft shelter-building stuff. Nothing else comes to mind.

It's suggesting horrifying anti-trans propaganda, pro-cop bullshit, and the like.

Something has changed.

(Edit: I'm posting this because I think YouTube is specifically targeting white men for fascist propaganda. If I'm seeing this horseshit, I bet you most white men in your life are also seeing it and they very well may not recognize it for what it is. This is extremely dangerous.)
