I'm editing a relatively technical piece and came across a logic error that at least three people must have missed for it to get this far.

I went to the scientific review article being cited, which also had the error, and then back to the original research paper to figure out and fix the problem.

Sometimes I doubt myself, but tonight, I feel like I'm still a mighty fine editor!

NZ election has talk of a "second election". Anyone discussing this should always mention that it would only be caused by Chris and Chris refusing to go into coalition together despite arguably being the two parties with the most in common.

Normally I always vote on election day itself, as I am a politics nerd and I love the ritual nature of voting on election day ... but honestly this election I am seriously thinking about just doing advance voting and getting it over and done with.

    Long shot for the crowd - I’m looking for a spare part on a discontinued McCulloch garden shredder, model MS300. The steel v-blade shattered on me yesterday and they aren't made anymore. Hus Qvarna bought McCulloch, but they said my only option is aftermarket. Any idea where to search? Amazon is giving me nothing and every ostensible option in search is to Aussie sites with sites that won't load (according to CloudFlare).

    I was with some of my wealthy friends last night. Someone declared a change of government was needed and invariably my leftist politics was raised. I said I agree. They looked at me in astonishment asking if I was going to vote National or Act? Laughing I said don’t be ridiculous, NZ needs a Green government. The reaction was interesting. Seems they all agreed climate change was the most serious threat to humanity but they were also unwilling to support wealth tax.

    It annoys me that the news media elevated the leaders of the legacy parties to their own private Chrisfest, instead of having a leaders debate that included these 4. That would have been a much more robust and insightful debate than listening to two sheets of human wallpaper dribble talking points at each other.
