I've added:
environment.wordlist.enable = true;

and use $WORDLIST instead of "/usr/share/dict/words".

I spend far too much time closing print dialogs ("I just wanted to move up a line!"), new windows ("I just wanted to move down a line!"), save dialogs ("I just wanted to search!").

Oh, and re-typing my password, because I realized my finger had slipped, hit ^U, and started over.

Update: I fixed it.
I had Jinx, Hunspell, and Flyspell going off at the same time. For some reason, "I've" is "incorrect" in the British dictionary? I just took out Jinx and Flyspell (disabled it) completely and I'm just using Hunspell for now. We'll see if that works. I have 3 dictionaries on it: en_US, en_GB, fr (for French).

@summeremacs When I first moved to NZ from the US, the place I worked specified that "New Zealand English" should be used for all documentation and code. I tried to follow what everyone else was doing, but quickly realized that I was trying to learn from folks who were 1) engineers, who are not known for their grammar and spelling skills, and 2) mostly not native New Zealanders.

Now, I just claim all my mistakes are "they way we do it in New York". ;)

Quick reminder that we are not actually in a "Cost of Living Crisis".

It's a Extreme Inequality and Record Untaxed Profits Crisis.

While we struggle for the basics, banks, energy companies, supermarkets and the oligarchs are posting record breaking profits.

It would be pretty straight forward to even it out. If they wanted to.

Don't buy the framing that makes it seem like nothing can be done, other than suffering through it.

We could start by electing a government that 1) admits there's a crisis, 2) doesn't blame on wages being "too high", and 3) has ideas other than "lower taxes for the wealthiest".

I don't have high hopes for this happening.

Twisted my ankle badly this morning and feeling glum about it. I think it’s going to be okay — 8 hours of compression, ice, rest, and ibuprofen later I can walk on it and the swelling has gone down — but I work on my feet and commute on my feet, so this sort of thing elicits a certain amount of pure terror in my soul.

@hdkarlsen I love this! The programming approach works better for me generally (I've got a programmer's brain, for good or ill), but I think the reproducibility makes it invaluable for any kind of serious collaboration.

I grew up in an era when white people proudly described themselves as "tolerant." I was always extremely offended. Who in the fuck did one think they were that they could imperiously declare to me that they would "tolerate" my presence.🙄

As a 59-year-old cis white guy (don't know if that makes us part of the same era) I really have a problem with terms like "tolerance" and "accepting" and even, to a lesser extent, "welcoming". To my mind, they all implicitly include a separation, and an entitlement (i.e., it's up to me whether you're included or not). Even "They are us" doesn't do it for me. I haven't been able to come up with a simple way of capturing the idea that we're all equally part of our communities.
