When I was a kid, I thought the line in Big Shot by William Martin Joel “And the spoon up your nose” meant that the person was so drunk that in trying to do the trick of sticking a spoon to the end of their nose, they missed and ended up sticking it up their nose.

It wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I knew what it actually meant.

I've been testing the new AirPods Pro 2 features that come with iOS 17 all week. Conversational Awareness is useful and clear to explain.

But Adaptive Audio seems to be a solution looking for a problem, and adds the burden of yet another mode for users to think about. I didn't find it helpful at all.

The two features should have been rolled out separately, with Conversational Awareness first.
